Jamyn and her friend were at Sack's Coffee Shop, in line to order, chatting away. The barista called out: "Who's up?" and rather than circumvent the oblivious pair, Sasha, next in line, gently prompted: "I think you're next." Jamyn and her friend remarked with surprise "how thoughtful he was." Jamyn returned to the shop the rest of the week: always at the same time, secretly hoping to see the polite stranger again. Finally, the day came. She saw him collecting his things to exit the coffee shop and slipped out the door behind him--what a coincidence! She was just leaving too! "I didn't know if you were seeing anyone... but wondered if you might like to have dinner sometime?" To her delight--he handed her his phone number--he had already written it on a scrap of paper. She raced home with butterflies in her stomach and didn't eat for a week. Their first date, he talked about his grandpa A LOT. And that's how she knew. She knew the way you know about a good melon.
