It was 9 years ago at Thirsty Buffalo on Elmwood Ave. Bekah just moved to Elmwood Village with a friend (s/o crystal), as she started nursing school. James was starting his post graduate life and living with friends in the Elmwood Village (s/o Ray and Griff). The next couple weekends they met out at Skybar and Encore (RIP), and then had their first date at Movieland 8 lol. Fast forward to 2023 we are living the West Coast life together in San Diego and getting married <3

We were about to start our first backpacking trip together in Mammoth, CA. James had surprised Bekah with her sister, Theresa, and her family, at the trailhead. While taking a family photo James let Bekah know that his last conversation with her Dad was to ask him for "her hand." Then Bekah started ugly crying and then they were engaged!!! After she said yes, celebrations started by drinking Jay's favorite scotch that James packed in a flask and a bottle of champagne. They then remembered they were only at the trailhead and still had to hike 6 miles up a mountain with their friends Zach and Brittany! Having a day/night of no cell service in the mountains was so special to soak up the engagement and all the emotions.
