Our Love Story Our story began at The Leaf Affair Cigar Lounge, thanks to a simple invite from our friend Keller. As we sat enjoying cigars, in walks James holding his tablet and bag like he already owned the place… like he had a whole meeting to run or something. From that moment, it was a mix of flirtatious stares, side glances, and conversations that just flowed. One of the first things that caught my attention was his confidence. Not too much… just enough to make me look twice and think, okay sir… I see you. As we talked more, the conversation turned to our kids and Thanksgiving coming up. I invited him and his son over, like I always do because nobody’s missing a good meal on my watch. When he said he didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving, I quickly responded, “I didn’t ask what you celebrate I asked if you wanted to eat.” That was his first real introduction to me… and somehow, he didn’t run. As I was getting ready to leave, he asked how he was supposed to contact me. I pointed at Keller and said, “Get with him.” Then I paused, turned around, and said, “Okay, stop being mean,” and handed him my phone. And yes… as he loves to remind me, I definitely put my butt in his face in the process. Not on purpose… but also not on purpose. Later that day, we were both staring at our phones, wanting to reach out but not knowing what to say. Meanwhile, I’m over here practicing fake texts in my head… and right on time he called. I said, okay… he might be alright. That call led to our first date at Billy Bob’s, where we sat for over three hours just talking. No distractions, no rushing just real conversation… and both of us pretending we weren’t already a little impressed. From there, everything just fell into place. Our kids blended into one big family. We learned each other’s ways—yes, even the stubborn ones. We laughed, we grew, and we built a love that feels like home… with a little attitude, a lot of personality, and plenty of laughs. Five years later, after countless memories, jokes, and moments that still make us shake our heads, we’re standing here today ready to make it official. Because from cigars, side eyes, and a little attitude… to forever. 10/10/2026… we say “I do.”
