Two Special Requests

1. Photos For Our Home

We want a framed photo of YOU! ❤️

Our hearts ache to say "Goodbye" to you and to good ol’ New England. You are our loved ones and dearest family and we want you ever so close! As we prepare to move and set up guest rooms for you to ‘come on by and visit with us for a while’, we would love to specially request that you please bring a framed photo of yourself/family by which we may remember you in our new home in Texas.

2. A Bountiful Table

Gastronomic sharings

We are eager to come together and celebrate both spiritually and gastronomically🙌🏾 It would be delightful to share our favorite recipes. So, if you would like, please bring a favorite savory or sweet treat to share! Jalieh can't wait to share with you “brigadeiros” one of her favorite Brazilian desserts and Taraz will cook a Persian quiche-like savory dish!

FAQs

Question

When and where is the engagement celebration?

Answer

Our Engagement Celebration will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Amherst Woman's Club (https://www.amherstwomansclub.org) located at 35 Triangle Street, Amherst, MA from 2:00 PM-5:30 PM.

Question

What is the nature of Baháʼí marriage?

Answer

Baháʼís believe that the family is the foundation of human society, contributing to the social good. Marriage is both a physical and spiritual union. The couple assist one another to advance towards God, to serve humankind and to strive towards an eternal harmonious relationship with each other. The courtship period is focused on becoming acquainted with one another’s character. After parental consent is received, the couple get engaged and then marry during a simple wedding ceremony. Baháʼí marriage is legally recognized around the world.

Question

What will the program be on the engagement celebration day?

Answer

We will have a program that will begin shortly after 2:00 PM and will last about 30-40 minutes. We look forward to welcoming you, delightfully savoring each other's company and joyously partaking of shared refreshments ❤️

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal attire is encouraged. We suggest dressing in layers as it will be a New England autumn day. There is a lovely garden you may wish to explore (brr! 😊).

Question

Where is the best place to park a vehicle?

Answer

There is limited parking at the Amherst Woman's Club premises: 10 cars on the front lawn and 20 on the side lot. Additional parking is available on surrounding streets, including the Amherst High School (ARHS), and the Elements Hot Tub & Spa located at 373 Main St., Amherst, MA 01002.
