As our tagline might imply, yes, this is entirely a play on words. Our initial meeting does go back a few years before we actually got together, but thankfully, from that time, we had still kept one another's contact information. If we hadn't, then I would certainly not be telling this story right now. It started out on a warm night in July when I was perusing my friends list on PSN (PlayStation Network to those who aren't into gaming) and happened to stumble across none other than Blakelake27 (aka Blakely) playing one of my all time favorite games: Bloodborne. Bloodborne is a hardcore action-adventure RPG that was developed by a company called FromSoftware (get it now?). I immediately sent her a message asking if she'd like some help and if she'd be down to do a co-op run with me. She agreed, and so from that moment on we started playing together and talking more as a result. A couple weeks go by. At this point we decide it might be fun to actually hangout again in person since we hadn't seen each other in so long. Several hangout sessions and a couple dates later and we decide to become boyfriend and girlfriend. That was on August 27th, 2018. Then, just five years later, on August 27th, 2023, I asked her for her hand in marriage. It's amazing how just one simple interaction--one message--almost six years ago brought us to this incredible moment in both our lives. I've always believed the universe has a plan, and it's guiding us every second of every day. Needless to say, I'm glad I decided to hop on my PlayStation all those years ago and send Blakely that message.
