Ceremony

4:30 pm

Bridalveil Fall
Tuolomne Meadows, CA 95389

Dress code: Dressy casual or cocktail attire! Have fun and be comfortable. Be prepared to walk/dance on grass and dirt, but you won’t have to hike during the wedding! We recommend bringing layers, as the temperature drops quickly in the evenings.

Location info: The ceremony is located approximately 5 minutes along a path from the parking area. We will make sure someone is there to point you in the right direction! From the NPS website: from the parking lot, take paved path and continue straight (do not turn right) until you are beyond the second stone bridge. Location lies at the forest clearing on your right where the fall comes into view. Because this is located within the national park, we are not permitted to set up chairs. Everyone will be standing for the ceremony, but we are planning to keep it short and sweet—no more than 15-20 minutes.

Reception

5:30 pm

Carroll N Clark Community Hall
5512 Foresta Road, El Portal, CA 95318

It’s a 25-minute drive to the reception hall in El Portal from the ceremony location

Travel

Yosemite is one of the most beautiful and natural places in the US, which unfortunately also means it is remote and somewhat difficult to access. We are so grateful that you are taking the time and effort to join us on this special day! Yosemite is popular! We recommend booking your lodging as soon as possible!

Travel Note

Airports

There are several airports that you can fly into to get to Yosemite. They will all require a rental car or public transport to reach the park. Important note: the east side of the park will most likely be closed due to snow while we are there. This means that the airports to the east (MMH and RNO) are not recommended because you will have to go around the park to enter, adding several hours. San Francisco (SFO) - 4 hours from Yosemite Valley. Best flight options from most airports. Fresno-Yosemite International (FAT) - 1.5 from Wawona, 2.5 hours from the Valley. Closer to the park, but fewer direct flight options. View more options here.

Travel Note

Airbnb and VRBO

There are several options for your lodging needs, both inside and outside of the park! Our top choice is AirBnb or VRBO. These sites allow you to rent cabins or houses, and make a great option if you are traveling with family or friends. We encourage renting with a group to reduce the cost! We are more than happy to help you find other guests to rent with—just let us know! The two places inside the park that have rentals are Yosemite West and Wawona. Keep in mind that Wawona will be at least a 45-minute drive to most of the locations in the park. Yosemite West is about a 20-minute drive to most places in the park. Additionally, most places require a 2-night minimum.

Travel Note

Camping

There are several great campgrounds at Yosemite National Park! Camping is extremely popular, so reserving ahead of time is a necessity. January 15th is the first day you will be able to reserve a site for our weekend in May. Click the link for all information on how to reserve! I recommend any of the Pines campgrounds, which are the closest to the ceremony and reception locations.

Travel Note

Lodging

Here is a link to a list of all lodging available within the park. Curry Village and Housekeeping Camp are the most affordable options and provide a rustic experience. This list has everything from canvas tents to cabins to hotels. I recommend sticking to locations within Yosemite Valley to be the closest to our ceremony and reception locations. There is also lodging outside of the park! I recommend looking at rentals, hotels, and campgrounds along Hwy 120 or Hwy 140 to be closest to wedding locations. (AutoCamp, Bug Rustic Mountain Resort, Yosemite View Lodge, and Rush Creek Lodge are some options) If you choose to look south of the park on Hwy 41, note that you might be an hour drive or more from the reception location.

Things To Do

Day Hikes

Yosemite, CA

Here’s a link to some of the popular hikes in the park! We’re hoping to do a group hike during the weekend as well, so stay tuned for more info on that!

Registry

As we are having a destination wedding, your presence is truly all we wish for. Please don’t feel obligated to get us anything else! If you want to bring a card, that would be lovely. If you wish to, please consider contributing to a wildfire relief fund, such as the California Fire Foundation Wildfire and Disaster Relief Fund. If you must, we have also set up a honeymoon fund and would accept small contributions.

FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We encourage everyone to have fun and be comfortable with what they’re wearing! We recommend dressing anywhere from smart casual to cocktail attire. All we ask is please no jeans, shorts, or t-shirts. For shoes, please no sneakers or flip flops. As this is an outdoor wedding with grass and dirt, Alison recommends wedges or block heels for those wanting to wear heels. We want everyone to feel comfortable in what they’re wearing! If you want to wear a suit or a long dress, great! If you want to wear khakis or nice pants and a button down or nice blouse, amazing! If you want to wear a mini- or midi-length dress or skirt, fab! We recommend bringing a warm layer for the evening.

Question

Where’s the nearest grocery store?

Answer

We recommend finding a grocery store on one of the main roads before you get to the park, as there aren’t many options once inside. The Village Store in Yosemite Valley is your best bet inside the park!
