Jacky and Oscar met in September of 2024 at a young adults volleyball night at church. Neither of them expected anything more than a fun evening, but God had something much sweeter in store. From the moment they started talking, their connection felt effortless. Oscar realized instantly that he and Jacky would get along when she made the exact joke he was just about to say. After volleyball, the whole group went out to eat, and Jacky and Oscar spent the night bouncing off each other’s humor, making the entire table laugh. When everyone else left, the two of them stayed behind talking. That’s when Oscar told Jacky he thought she was cute and funny and asked if she wanted to hang out the following week. That simple conversation marked the beginning of something beautiful. One year later, in October, Oscar proposed on the beach in Galveston during another young adults event: sunrise worship. With the sound of waves in the background and God’s presence all around them, he asked her to spend forever with him. Jacky and Oscar share a deep love for God, for each other, and for creating joy wherever they go. They look forward to building a life rooted in faith, laughter, and love.
