Some of the best love stories begin with simple introductions, and ours started at a game night put together by some of our mutual friends. What began as a casual evening quickly turned into something neither of us expected. From that night on, we found ourselves looking for any excuse to spend time together, and it didn't take long for us to realize we had found something truly special. What started with a fun game night grew into a love story, and now we're so excited to begin our greatest adventure together as husband and wife. God is so good!
We're so excited to celebrate our wedding with you, but we also want you to know that this day is about something much bigger than us. Our love story is a gift from God, and it is merely a reflection of an even greater love story... the one God has written for you and for me. The Bible tells us that every person was created by God and is deeply loved by Him. Yet because of our sinful nature, each of us has chosen our own way instead of His. This separates us from a holy God. No amount of good works or striving can bridge that gap. Because of His immeasurable love, God sent His Son, Jesus, to do what we never could. Jesus lived a perfect life, free of sin, died on the cross in our place, and rose again three days later, defeating sin and death forever. Through His death and resurrection, He made a way for anyone who places their faith in Him to be forgiven, restored to God, and receive the free gift of eternal life. This is the greatest news we'll ever hear, and it's the foundation of everything that we believe. We believe marriage is one of God's beautiful illustrations of this truth. The Bible describes marriage as a picture of Christ's relationship with His Church (Ephesians 5:25–32). Just as Christ loves His people with a steadfast and unwavering love, we desire for our marriage to reflect that same kind of love. While we'll never do this perfectly, our prayer is that our relationship would continually point others to the grace, forgiveness, and faithfulness received from Jesus. As you celebrate with us, our greatest hope isn't simply that you'll remember our wedding day... it is that you'll see the greater purpose of our union. To point others to the One who makes love, hope, joy, and forever possible. "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." — Ephesians 2:8–9
