FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

There’s no strict dress code—please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and happy. That said, our wedding is a chance to dress to impress! It’s the perfect opportunity to wear something special that you might not usually get to show off. If you’d like to have a bit of fun with your outfit, our wedding has a whimsical, fantasy-inspired feel, and we’re all about a touch of creativity! Think elegant, playful, and a little dreamy—but only if that’s your style. Most importantly, we just want you to feel great and enjoy the day with us! Since it will be outdoors, the evening might get a little chilly, so bringing a cardigan or light jacket is a good idea. For the ladies, the venue is mostly grass, so you may want to keep that in mind when choosing shoes. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is ample street parking for all guests at the venue. However, since the gardens are open to the public during the day, if it’s busy, you may need to park a little further away. For those using rideshare services, we recommend prebooking both your ride to and from the venue to ensure a smooth experience, as there are limited Ubers in the area. It might also be worthwhile to see if any other guests are staying nearby, as you can share a ride for convenience.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

For those looking for nearby accommodation, there are several options close to the venue, ranging from cozy hotels to charming bed and breakfasts. Since Mount Wilson is a small town with limited accommodation, I’d recommend looking outside the venue's immediate locality, with the nearby town of Blackheath being the primary option. It’s less than half an hour away and has a wide variety of places to stay, including plenty of Airbnb and Stayz options throughout the surrounding area. Many properties in these areas offer multiple bedrooms, so if you’d like to share accommodation with other guests for a more economical option, this could be a great choice. It’s worth noting that there’s a pretty decent hotel in Blackheath called Kyah, which has a few rooms available and is currently offering a 15% discount with the code 'SAVE15' if you book directly through their website. But there are plenty of other options as well. If you’d prefer to stay further out, Katoomba is about 40 minutes away and offers even more accommodation choices. If anyone needs assistance finding a place, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m more than happy to help, especially with the shorter timeframe!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

As we’re working with a shorter time frame, we need to finalize everything as soon as possible! Since it’s going to be a relatively intimate event with fewer than 30 guests invited, we’d really appreciate it if you could let us know whether you can make it as soon as you can. This will help us finalize food and seating arrangements and make sure everything is perfect for you.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 2:45pm, so it’s advised to arrive 15 to 20 mins beforehand to ensure you have time to find your seat and settle in before the start. Please allow plenty of time in case there are any issues with parking or with finding the venue as the reception can tend to be a little bit dodgy. If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out!
