Our Story
If you know you know, any good story on the east side of Wichita, KS always starts at Walt's Bar & Grill. So of course that is where our journey began when we reconnected after awhile of not seeing each other and properly catching up in years! For those that don't know, we actually went to high school together, went to the same college, and even went through the same department for Architectural Engineering and Construction Science program. So we saw a lot of each other over the years! Mainly all in passing, waiving hi down the hall or quiet nods in Aggieville. But God has a funny way of unraveling the plans laid out before us. That Thanksgiving Eve in 2021, Julia finally did not just want to quickly say hi and bye to Logan. She found herself catching up with Logan and actually really enjoying their conversation! I mean they really did have so much in common it was funny to realize that they could make a great match. Well Logan texted Julia the next day (AKA Thanksgiving) and asked her to go on a date!! Later did he clarify he was actually in Kansas City at his moms for the holiday but that he'd come back to Wichita early so he could take Julia out on a date here before she had to go back to Kansas City where she was living at the time. Julia hadn't been on a first date in a very very long time so distinctly remembers telling her friends how it will be the perfect 'practice first date' since Logan wasn't a complete stranger but would still get to test out how trying to get to know someone would be like. Well God's humor just keeps showing up and that 'practice' first date really did turn out to be perfect and the last first date they both ever had! Fast forward a few years and the birth of our daughter, Lucy Jo, we are so excited to get married and make our family officially official!

We will have shuttles starting at 3:00 PM from different pickup locations in town. If you are planning to use this shuttle please RSVP yes when asked and include the location of where you are staying below so we can make stops in areas that best include everyone.

For all those of you who are staying a day longer, we are throwing a private pool party at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Saturday night to close out our wedding festivities! The upper pool is the area reserved. We will have a bartender service available. Water slides and fun are on us while food and drinks are on you. We made this event earlier rather than later so those that need to get up early Sunday to travel can still stop by. Logan can't wait to personally race everyone down the slides!

Welcome to Colorado!
Our wedding "destination" is the beautiful town of Buena Vista, in the Sawatch mountain range outside of Denver. Buena Vista is a small mountain town with limited and rustic lodging, so we HIGHLY encourage you to book lodging ASAP to ensure your preferred option is available. The town is a popular adventure destination in the summer and lodging books up quickly. (This weekend in particular already has the Gold rush and Transrock run happening) Feel free to contact us with questions as we have spent a lot of time looking into lodging options. Please let us know when you book! Keep in mind we are hosting a pool party on Saturday to wrap up the wedding weekend. See the schedule tab for more information. We would love to see you there! Denver International Airport is the closest major airport (2 hr. 30 min. drive), Colorado Springs Airport is 1.5 hour drive

By Rental Car
Buena Vista, CO is just over a 2hr drive from Denver. You can take the 285 South route or the I-70 route that is slightly more scenic and 15 minutes longer. Optional Add-on: If you have extra time on your hands, add Loveland Pass to the I-70 route for a drive that will blow you away (potentially literally)! Buena Vista is only 1.5-2hrs from Colorado Springs.

UNION STATION (DENVER) TO BUENA VISTA (via Crested Butte Line) There is a direct A-line (train) from Denver airport to downtown Union Station. $10 each way. Trains leave every 15 minutes between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. and every 30 minutes outside of those hours. - Leaves Union Station at 1:50pm MT every day. - 2hr 55min travel time (4:45pm arrival). - Route on Google Maps -Leaves Buena Vista at 8:15am MT every day. - 2hr 35min travel time (10:50am arrival). Tickets are $24 one-way. You can either buy tickets in person or on the Bustang Outrider App (IOS).

We will be having a shuttle! We are waiting to see what area's people are staying at to determine the shuttle schedule. We will update this when things are final!

Our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour are outdoors, but our reception will be inside.

What will the weather be like?

In August, Buena Vista is generally 70 - 80 degrees during the day, dropping into the 50 - 60s at night. Colorado also frequently has brief afternoon showers during the summer. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside with ample opportunity to continue to enjoy the outdoors during the reception for those that are interested.

Answer
Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. I repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. There are a bunch of grassy/dirt areas that you might have to walk in so wear chunky heels or sandals. Can't have any of you ruining nice shoes or breaking any ankles!
