The hotels in the Marina are largely catering to the Fisherman's Wharf tourist crowd so scope out what vibe you are looking for, the city is small, you can easily stay in cuter areas like The Mission, Duboce Triangle/Alamo Square area, Cole Valley, Hayes Valley etc. and get to Fort Mason in an Uber no problem. You can also go more Northern California woodsy and stay in Mill Valley or Sausalito and still will have only about a 30 min drive to get to Fort Mason.

There is parking at Fort Mason but we recommend Uber or public transit. SF is small, it won't take more than 25 min from almost anywhere in the city.
