Hotel, parking, and general travel information to make your trip as easy as possible.

Travel Note

Transportation

We are delighted to have found a church and reception venue within walking distance of each other, in such a vibrant, pedestrian area of Madison! That said, we encourage you to enjoy a leisurely ~15 minute (½ mile) walk West along State Street, a pedestrian mall, as means of transportation between the church and reception venue. There are many different bars and shops to pop into along the way to fill the time between the ceremony and start of cocktail hour. Visit the 'Madison Favorites' section of our website to see a few of our key recommendations. Should you be needing mobile transportation, there is a parking lot at the church for ~30 cars. There is also a short term parking lot available for drop off (ramp accessible) at the Northwest corner of the Wisconsin Historical Society, directly off of Park Street.

Travel Note

Parking

We recommend parking and leaving your car in one of the following garages for the day. All are in close proximity to the church and reception venue: State Street Campus Garage 430 N. Frances St $1.80 / hr , $8 maximum Overture Center Garage 318 W. Mifflin St. $1.60 / hr , $8 maximum State Street Capitol Garage 200 N. Carroll St. $1.50 / hr , $8 maximum If you're feeling lucky: You can try your hand at street parking… however most streets in the nearby area are either ‘No Parking Zones’ or are metered with 3 hour limits on Saturdays. That said, we wouldn't recommend it!

Madison Favorites!

We both went to UW-Madison and have so many wonderful memories in this great city. We're so excited to share a few of our favorite places in the area with you!
Memorial Union Terrace

Memorial Union Terrace

800 Langdon Street, Madison, WI 53706

Grab a pitcher of beer, a scoop of ice cream, or some delicious cheese curds while taking in the beautiful view of Lake Mendota. And bring a deck of cards! Our favorite games are 13, Cribbage, Gin Rummy, and Presidents. Fun fact: Erica was a lifeguard at the Memorial Union Terrace swimming pier for 2 summers while in college. This was also one of the filming locations for the 2016 University of Wisconsin promo video in which Erica was filmed jumping off the pier with a Wisconsin flag!

Saturday Morning Farmer's Market

Saturday Morning Farmer's Market

2 East Main Street, Madison, WI 53702

Enjoy a ½ mile walk around the Capitol Square to take in all sides of the beautiful Wisconsin State Capitol building, modeled after our nation’s Capitol in D.C. If you're here Saturday morning, we highly recommend walking around the square and taking in of the country's largest farmer's markets! Enjoy fresh produce, bright flowers, delicious bakery items (hello Stella's cheese bread!), and more.

State Street Brats

State Street Brats

603 State Street, Madison, WI 53703

A longtime Madison establishment at the heart of campus. Great beer, great cheese curds, and an outdoor patio. Need we say more? Fun fact: This is the first bar Sean attempted to go to with a fake ID in college. To no one’s surprise, he was swiftly DENIED.

The Kollege Klub

The Kollege Klub

529 North Lake Street, Madison, WI 53703

A senior year staple for us and our friends (and every other student in the Wisconsin School of Business). THE spot for Friday After Class (FAC) drinks for Sean his freshman year (he somehow got in here of all places??)

The Red Shed

The Red Shed

508 State Street, Madison, WI 53703

A Madison classic! (And near and dear to one of our very special guests). Erica worked as a bartender here in college on Badger Football game days back when it was on Frances street. Fun fact: Erica would make her monthly rent money in tips from just a couple of these game day shifts her sophomore year! Don’t be fooled though, despite the generosity of the Madison community, Erica was a pretty terrible (and not completely sober) bartender.

The Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned

23 North Pinckney Street, Madison, WI 53703

A delicious ode to Wisconsin dining and midwest culture. You won’t be disappointed if you stop in here for a quick drink or bite to eat. We highly recommend their old fashioned (of course), their cheese curds, and Lazy Susan appetizer spread.

If you have any additional questions beyond what is noted below, please reach out! Text Sean, (224) 730-8115, or Erica, (608) 712-0844.
Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that all guests arrive no later than 2:45pm to allow ample time to find seating, greet other guests, and get settled prior to the ceremony.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, we kindly ask that guests dress in colorful cocktail to formal attire. For the ladies, we recommend midi, tea, or floor length dresses, or dressy pantsuits. For the gentlemen, we recommend a suit and tie.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love all little ones dearly, we ask that our wedding ceremony and festivities throughout the weekend are limited to adults only.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unless specified on your invitation, we ask that you do not bring any additional guests to our celebration.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please connect with either Erica or Sean, and we will work with our caterer to meet your needs.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

We recommend parking in one of the nearby parking ramps for the day, and walking between the ceremony and reception venues. If you need door-to-door transportation and drop off, no worries! There are small parking lots available at both venues for short term parking.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We will not be providing any transportation between hotels, the ceremony, and reception venues, as all are conveniently located within walking distance of each other. We recommend calling an Uber/Lyft, should you wish for mobile transport at any point during the weekend.
