It no secret we have both experienced great loss over the course of our lives. Although we may have met in the darkness, we brought each other back to the light. Living over 2 hours away, leaves space to ask all the tough questions that lead to all the hard conversations. We learned very quickly that all of our morals and values align, and forgotten dreams were given new life. This can only be described as a gift from God. It was not by coincidence that we met and fell in love. We were made specifically for one another. We met online, neither of us looking for long distance, both scared to give our hearts away again. We talked on the phone for hours at a time. Before we knew it, about 2 months had passed and it was time to meet face to face. We had such an instant connection we started dating 5 days later. A month in, fears and reservations came between us, separating us for about a month. In that time, we learned a lot about ourselves and who we wanted to be individually...and that we could not stay apart for long. Reuniting, we both decided to center our lives around Christ and grow together in him. Four short months later, we made the decision to get baptized again. Together this time. The day we publicly declared our faith, we became engaged. Time is promised to no one, a lesson we both know too well. We have been blessed with a partner who remains constant through grief, joy, and even frustration. A partner who can bring balance to the other just by being present. When you find what we have found, there is no desire to wait for the worlds expectations to be met. The only desire is to become one. We thank God every day for each other, and vow to keep him the center our lives always.
