The Couple
Picture it, San Francisco, circa 2013. A friend asks if he can bring his roommate to our Super Bowl party at my (and my roomies', shout out!) apartment. A whole whirlwind 2 years later, boom, we're together! Through the course of many nights out with friends, several house parties, and a year's worth of Thursday-night-Scandal-viewing-"hang outs" we realized this was the real thing. We were great friends during all that time, but even with that strong foundation, we both were SO nervous for our first brunch date. In what has felt like several lifetimes since then, the world has certainly thrown many a curveball our way. Through it all - a stint of long distance, several apartment moves, a global pandemic - we have leaned on each other and created a beautiful life together. We have kept each other steady and in love. We can't wait to start this next part of our life journey together, and to share our wedding day with all of you! Besos and love, always - Helena & Matt
Maid of Honor
I can only really describe Emma's role in my life as the one friend I would get matching tattoos with to celebrate that we will still be together drinking whiskey out of teacups on our front porch as little old ladies. She is a light, not just for me, but for everyone in her orbit. In the years going from being anonymous randoms in each other's space freshman year of college to having her with me as my Maid of Honor, there are no words for how much Emma has helped me through tough moments and brought so much good to my life. I couldn't imagine life without my also-only-child, twin-in-all-things best friend!
Best Man
I've known my Best Man as long as I've been on this Earth, and he has always been there for me. As an older brother, it was Mitch's sacred duty to tease and harass me, but we always connected - even being a few years apart in age. The truth is that I have always looked up to him, and am so grateful to have his support on my wedding day and in life.
Bridesmaid
Zorros forever! 1D til death! It's not a phase, it's a lifestyle! TPWK! Christine is one of my oldest friendships and I thank everything in the universe every single day that our love for One Direction started us down the path that has bonded us for life. I can't say enough how much Christine has been a ride or die friend in all these years, and I feel extremely fortunate to have her shining in my life.
Bridesmaid
The Other Garcia! Taylor has been a warm, glittery disco ball of a friend since we met within the first month of college. Eternally caring and uplifting, we spent a lot of time together exploring our feelings through poetry. I simply would not have made it through the turbulence of college without her! She's always there with a laugh or even just to relate to all the messy emotions of life, I am so blessed to have her.
Bridesmaid
Carrie is quite literally the friend that you can call in the middle of the night to come strap a free couch to the roof of your way-too-small-car. She's another old friendship, and I couldn't be more lucky to have her around! From spending all our free periods together on some kind of food adventure or silliness to seeing her and Christine live such a joyful life together, Carrie is an absolute dazzling star that makes life so bright!
Groomsman & Officiant
I met Marquez shortly after he started dating my fiancée's best friend, the Maid of Honor, and have been lucky enough to share some great memories and life milestones together in the short window of time we've known each other. With his way of working a crowd and easiness with words, Marquez was an easy choice for us to be the officiant for our wedding. I'm privileged to count Marquez as a friend, and one of my groomsmen.
Groomsman
Tyler was legitimately one of the first people I met at USF when we both started college. I always tell the story of being ditched by my roommate at the time before an organized outing to a Giants game and meeting Tyler in the group leaving for the stadium. For the rest of that year, and in all the following, Tyler has been a great friend, looking out for an introvert like myself, and in a roundabout way introducing me to Helena all those years ago!
Groomsman
Another USF friend, in our extended friend group with Tyler! Kenneth and I seemed to connect instantly, and the best thing I can say about Kenny is that he is truly a stand-up guy, who is no stranger to a good time. He is just one of those guys that is a great person to have around. We've shared so many good memories together, and I am looking forward to more in the future.
