Option 1: International flight to Liberia (LIR), Costa Rica Getting from Liberia (LIR) Airport to Nosara: A) Puddle Jumper- Liberia (LIR) to Nosara Beach (NOB): Costa Rica Greenways Airways or Sansa Airlines ~ 30 minute flight. Cab from NOB to Playa Guiones ~ 10 minutes. In Nosara, there are "tuk tuk" cabs to get around if you elect not to rent a car. B) Car Rental ~ 2.5hr drive. This is a fun option and it is nice to have a car when in Nosara to get around. The roads are dirt with potholes near the beach so a 4WD mini SUV is best. Nosara is walkable, but a car rental makes getting around very easy for longer walking distances. C) Private Van - Door to door from Liberia to Nosara. Playa Guiones is the main stretch of beach in Nosara. More specifically, North Guiones and the Guilded Iguana Hotel are centrally located with a small strip of stores, cafes, and restaurants within a short walk. Search Gilded Iguana on Google maps to get a sense of the location. House Rentals: This is the best option for a group stay. There are many amazing newly constructed houses to rent in the area. We rented near the beach in walking distance to Gilded Iguana/Sendero; However, there are also great options a quick drive up the hill with spectacular views, but a car rental is necessary to get up and down the hills. We negotiated our rate lower during the green season, so you can try haggling, as well. Sections E, EE, and F are up in the hills with great views, but a quick drive to the beach and shops. Section G is North Guiones near Gilded Iguana Section J is a modest walk (~5-10 min to Gilded Iguana) Section K is a longer walk (~20 min to Gilded Iguana) or a quick drive. There are very nice houses in this residential section, but we'd recommend renting a car if you rent here.
