Question

We were married in a small civil ceremony in Seattle, Washington on October 7th, 2023. While we wish everyone could have been there, we are looking forward to celebrating our marriage with those who are able to attend our reception.

Question

Will there be any other planned events?

Answer

We will not be hosting any other events while in London but would love to meet up with people throughout the week! For those traveling, please let us know if you would like to coordinate anything with us once your plans are finalized. For those who live locally, we will be in London the week prior to the wedding and would love to see anybody that we can!

Question

What if I can't make it?

Answer

We understand that many of you who live abroad will not be able to make the trip to London. Even if you live locally, we know that it may not be possible to attend. We want everyone that we invited to know that regardless if you are able to attend or not, you have all played a special role in our lives. If you are unable to make it, we hope to celebrate with you in the future!

Flight

London Heathrow Airport LHR

London has many airports but if you are traveling internationally (especially from the US), you should book your flights to London Heathrow Airport.

Travel Note

Airport Transportation

There are multiple ways to travel to/from London Heathrow Airport. We have listed them below for reference. Please reach out to us as you start planning and Jasper can help support your specific route planning! The most convenient way is to pre-book a taxi (mini cab). They will be waiting outside baggage claim holding a sign with your name on it. This option should cost about $120 one way. This website is a comprehensive search engine of all approved companies to book: www.heathrow.com/transport-and-directions/by-taxi-or-mini-cab Uber/Lyft is available to book once you land. They have a separate pick-up area (as most airports do these days) with a lot of signage throughout the airport to direct you. This option should cost about $75 USD traveling to the area of our venue, which is centrally located in London. Please note this price could vary drastically depending on time of day. The train will be the cheapest option $20-30$. The Heathrow Express is an overground train that allows you to travel from Heathrow Airport to Paddington Station in Central London in 15 minutes. From Paddington Station you will have access to Taxi's/Uber/Lyft and the underground network of trains that allows you to get anywhere in London. Depending on your route and final destination, your route may include both underground and overground trains. If you're traveling with heavy suitcases, we would suggest avoiding to underground network if possible as there are lots of stairs at the stations. Travel into paddington should be relatively straight forward. A better option would be to get a taxi/uber/lyft from Paddington. Our venue location is around 4 miles from here.

Travel Note

Apple Pay/Tap

Everywhere in London accepts Apple Pay/Tap as a form of payment. This includes bars, restaurants and really anywhere that you purchase something. When using the train, paying for each journey via tap/Apple Pay will be the same price or sometimes cheaper if you're taking multiple trips in a day. You will tap your card/phone as you enter the station and again when you exit and charges you accordingly. I would advise having this form of payment set up on your phone prior to traveling or use your card if it has the microchip tap functionality, although there are still traditional ticket machines or ticket counters if you prefer that.

Travel Note

Accommodation

We will be staying at an Airbnb near Troy Bar in Shoreditch which is located at 10 Hoxton St, London N1 6NG, United Kingdom. Our venue is located in Shoreditch which is about 15 minutes from the main tourist attractions including the London Eye, St. Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge and Southbank. We recommend staying within a couple of miles of Shoreditch. The areas to search in would be Shoreditch, St. Paul's, Covent Garden, Southbank, Borough, Canon Street, Tower Hill and Spitalfields. There are numerous hotels and Airbnbs within the area to choose from. If you need specific advice or support finding accommodation, please let us know and we are happy to help!
