We first met on July 22nd, 2024 at Centennial Medical Center as we both worked as nurses. I still remember seeing Allison for the first time in the medicine room as I played a Toby Mac song. She noticed this, and we started talking about Jesus and churches and I instantly knew this woman loved Jesus, and she was cute and sweet. Several months later, I was again working and saw Allison, and thought I’d reach out to her and see if she wanted to attend a pot-painting party. She wasn’t able to come, so I invited her to a get together at a friend’s house. Allison came, and she was really fun to hang with! We talked for a while, and since the conversation was flowing, she invited me to go thrifting a couple days later. I didn’t think we really hit it off at the time, but the Lord had greater plans in mind. Around Thanksgiving, she texted me. Around Christmas Eve, she texted me again to wish me a Merry Christmas. I told her happy Jesus’s 2024 birthday and that I thought him and his disciple drank sweet tea on his birthday. She said that she thought they drank hot chocolate. Since we both worked on Christmas, I brought her a packet of Swiss Miss and she thought that was really sweet, and several days later invited me to go thrifting again!! Over Mexican food and thrifting January 3rd, 2025 I got to know in part the beautiful heart of this woman of God, Allison Layne Hartz. We quickly met each other’s families, studied the Bible together, prayed together, laughed together and went out on lots of dates, and I found myself falling in love with Allison Hartz. We told each other we loved each other and wanted to get married after 37 days of dating, and by the Lord’s goodness, grace, and mercy I asked her father for her hand in marriage and proposed May 4th, 2025 (Star Wars day!!). And Lord-willing we are getting married August 2nd, 2025! This is the Lord’s doing, and I do not credit myself for putting this incredibly beautiful, kind-hearted woman with such a love for children and Him into my life as I can simply praise him for it and thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and encouragement that God used us to draw us closer to Him and ultimately to each other!
