If you know me, you know my obsession with a good grocery store. My Hinge profile had a prompt: "I'll fall in love with you if you take me to Whole Foods." Someway or another we set a date to meet and eat on the Whole Foods rooftop patio. For the non-Austinites, the Austin Whole Foods is gorgeous, the headquarters, and has a pretty sweet upstairs patio. Anyways. I was late of course, and found myself apologize texting "almost there!" as I was 10 minutes down the road. There were no parking spots on ground level, so I had to park underground and take the escalator up to the front entrance. Now this is cheesy. I am not exaggerating when I tell you this is how I remember it. But, as I rose up the escalator and slowly revealed a cute looking boy patiently waiting for me, and grinning once we met eyes, I feel like I practically floated off the escalator platform. We spent 3 hours on the Whole Foods roof, eating gross cheese that we mistakenly picked out, dancing, and talking about who knows what.

There I was, sitting at an AirBnB in Little Rock, Arkansas on a weekend trip with college friends for our annual alumni game. Casually scrolling Hinge before heading out with friends, I saw a profile catch my eye, a perfect combo of beauty and silliness. "I'll fall in love with you if you take me to Whole Foods." it said. I'd spend the next couple hours nervously polling my friends to get the best response I could. "How about a nice Whole Foods chévre?" (chévre being the fanciest cheese we could think of). Hook, line and sinker... she was in. I made sure to arrive early, as I always do. And nervously looked around for Hanna, trying my best to put a profile picture to a face. Then, as if out of a movie, she ascended up the escalator and I knew as soon as our eyes met. We'd spend the few hours on the roof top of Whole Foods, in what was the most effortless conversation I've ever had. 3 hours felt like 30 minutes, and before you know it was 10pm and the store had closed. And for anyone keeping track, the cheese was awful.
