Our Story

From hand shake to wedding cake

Haily & Dan met on the first day of teachers college. Some quick "nice to meet you" and "where are you from" conversations over a welcome barbecue. Neither of them knew at that time that this is the person they would later fall in love with, travel the world with, get a dog with and then eventually... you guessed it- be married to! They met again half a year later at an ugly Christmas sweater party. The whole party was jolly.. if you know what I mean. Dan strikes up a conversation with Haily in the hallway. She proceeds to.... suggest they make a handshake. DARN. Friendzoned. It didn't take long though after that for Dan to crawl out of the friend zone and the two went on a date. They have been inseparable ever since. Soon after school they moved to Sweden together to pursue a life that neither of them could have ever crafted in their wildest dreams. Now here we are, 7 years later and ready to tie the knot! So happy you're here for the journey.

The Engagement

On a dreary Sunday in January 2025, Dan popped the question! He took the opportunity on their routine morning coffee walk, a sentimental and truly surreal moment. With friends hiding near by ready to celebrate, it was perfect! The sky cleared up that evening and we were able to enjoy a sunset while feeling all the warmth of the occasion! Credits to Silver Breitkopf for her beautiful photography.

FAQs

Here are some answers to some questions we've been asked so far. Reach out to us if you wonder about something else!
Question

Will there be transportation provided?

Answer

Because the wedding is located in an area with easy access to Halifax, Dartmouth and surrounding areas, we will not be providing transportation to and from the venue. We have access to a very large parking area/drive way if you wish to drive and park or a taxi or uber is easy.

Question

Wedding gift?

Answer

First of all, your presence is our present. Thank you for attending our wedding. We consider ourselves to be minimalists and don't need gifts with bells and whistles. If you want to get the newly weds a gift, we would suggest a monetary contribution to our honeymoon or upcoming life milestones!
