The Monterey Peninsula Airport (city code MRY) is very convenient to Carmel Valley, about a 25 min drive to the Village. Other options include San Jose (SJC), about 90 minutes away, and San Francisco (SFO), a 2 hour drive.

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Yes. There is public transit on the peninsula but having a car will provide you the flexibility to create your own itinerary and take in this magnificent part of the country. Travel Tip: Over the years, we have learned that car rental costs can affect the overall cost of the trip and sometimes a slightly higher airfare into Monterey, for example, is more than offset by a lower car rental cost than it would be to rent a car in San Jose despite the lower airfare.

Monday, June 1, 2026 We will need a headcount for the meals and also for the event we are planning for our out of town guests (to which family is also invited!)

We are planning an event in Carmel Valley for our out of town guests (family is encouraged, too!) either the day before the ceremony or the day after. Watch for details!
