James and Grace first met via online dating shortly after Grace’s move to Phoenix, Arizona to begin her teaching career. Both of them felt that the quality of their new relationship was an unexpected, yet not unappreciated, surprise. After months of hour-long drives to meet up, they decided to move in together and quickly fell in love. Grace was smitten from the early days, but James wanted to make sure that their relationship would stand the test of time. On October 14th, 2023 James proposed to Grace while revisiting Exposure’s International Gallery of Fine Art which they had visited during their first vacation together. Though they’d had the custom made ring for some time at that point, Grace was nonetheless excited.
