Our story

We met at an introductory politics lecture in freshers week at Exeter University in 2018. Flash forward a week and some dodgy dancing in Unit 1 night club sealed the deal. We got engaged back where it all began on a weekend trip to Exeter to celebrate our five year anniversary. Having celebrated six years together and a year of engagement on 10 October 2024, we're now counting down the days until the 'I dos' in just under six months' time. We can't wait to celebrate with you all.

The venue

We have chosen to get married at... Old Gore Barn, Fosse Cross, Cirencester, GL54 4BZ. This may not be the most traditional wedding venue and we have plenty of quirks in store but it's definitely a reflection of us and we can't wait for you all to see it! The day

Where to stay

We're getting married in the beautiful Cotswolds. While this is a lovely setting, we recognise it makes it a bit trickier to find places to stay. The closest town, Cirencester, is a 12 minute drive away. We will be running transport back to here at the end of the night so recommend you look here for places to stay. We've popped a couple of easy options below but there are plenty of other options! Alternatively, there are lots of lovely hotels and Airbnbs in the surrounding villages, some of the closest are Bibury, Barnsley and Chedworth. The closest town, Cirencester, is a 12 minute drive away. We will be running transport back to here at the end of the night which you can opt in or out of when you RSVP. If you will need a taxi to get back to your accommodation at the end of the night, please book in advance using one of the companies recommended by our venue on their suppliers page: https://www.yardspace.co.uk/oldgore/suppliers If you are travelling by train, the closest station is Kemble. If you are driving to the venue, your car can be left there overnight but you must pick it up by 10am the next morning.

Am I invited to the ceremony or evening do?

Answer

Both! We've decided we want to celebrate the whole day with everyone so if you have an invite, you're in it for the long haul!

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate plus ones. We've planned an intimate day to celebrate with those closest to us so we'll only have room for those named on the invite.

Can I leave my car at the venue overnight?

Answer

Yes, so long as you pick it up by 10am the next morning.

Will there be transport to and from the venue?

Answer

We ask that you make your own way to the venue in good time for the start of the ceremony. At the end of the night there will be transport arranged back to Cirencester as this is the closest town and where we would recommend you stay (see our 'where to stay' section). If you choose to stay elsewhere we have provided details of local taxi companies in our 'travel' section.

Do you have a gift list?

Answer

We know that coming to a wedding is a big enough commitment in itself, so please don't feel like you have to splash the cash on a gift! However, we would welcome contributions towards our honeymoon which we're planning for 2026 and there will be a box for cards at the wedding venue on the day.
