We love this beach! It's a 10-15 minute walk up and over the hill, or a very quick taxi ride from the venue hotel. Bring towels and take over some space at one of the many beach restaurants/bars for the day (we love Rossy's down at the far end of the beach!), or a hotel may loan you beach chairs. The water is very swimmable and there are rental options along the beach for different water sports. You can't go wrong with a $20 hour-long massage at any of the stands along the beach or directly behind Rossy's.
A smaller beach than La Ropa, Playa las Gatas is just as beautiful and offers snorkeling and kayak tours. There's a sunken statue of Jesus just off the shore, and we swam with turtles our first time here! A water taxi from town is the best transportation to get here.
Walk along Madera Beach and down the boardwalk, walk the streets or take a taxi to downtown Zihua for shopping, food and nightlife.
