Back in 2016, Grace was on the verge of taking a finance job (against her better judgment!) when she went for a last-minute interview at PowerReviews in downtown Chicago. She met Alex, got the job the same day, and joined his team. At the time, they were both dating other people and only worked together for a short stint before their paths diverged within the company. But while their careers went in different directions, their friendship only grew stronger (with their friends practically becoming a group of besties along the way). A few years later, both single and out at a work function, they made a mutual call: ditch the event and grab sushi instead. That night, in the cozy basement of Momotaro, what started as a friendly escape turned into their first “accidental date.” From there, their relationship blossomed – quietly, though, since they kept their budding romance a secret at PowerReviews for a year and a half until Grace moved on to a new role. With the secret out, they finally felt a sense of relief in being able to share their love openly. By 2019, they were ready for a new adventure and decided to wait for the right jobs to take them to New York City. Grace made the move, and Alex joined her just a few months later. Together, they fell in love with the city and continued to fall even deeper in love with each other. Now, after five years in NYC, they've made incredible friends, experienced some of the city’s best adventures, and can’t wait for what's to come!
