How They Met

June 2010

Rian and Glynette’s story began in their first year of high school. It was their friend—whom they both fondly call their cupid—Jayson Roy, who played a key role in bringing them together. There was an undeniable spark between them, but life had other plans, and Rian had to move to Canada with his family. Five years later, while Glynette was in college in Manila, Rian reached out to reconnect—curious to see if the spark they once shared still remained. They met again, and it became clear: some connections never fade. The rest, as they say, is history. ✨

From Visa to Vows

September 28, 2022

Glynette and Rian’s love story is one for the books—a decade filled with late-night video calls, time zones that never seemed to line up, and annual airport hugs that always ended too soon. From high school mutual crushes to partners separated by oceans, they kept their love alive across the miles and the calendar. Then one day, Rian made a bold and beautiful decision: he packed his bags and flew straight to the Philippines to marry Glynette. No more waiting, no more goodbyes at the airport—they chose love over waiting, right then and there, surrounded by family and endless smiles. Their wedding wasn’t about grand celebrations or flashy parties. It was about finally being together, promising forever in the simplest and sweetest way. After a long wait, Glynette is finally in Canada—one dream fulfilled as they slowly tick off their bucket lists together. And as a special promise to their beloved grandmas (and everyone cheering them on), a church wedding is definitely on the horizon, they will soon have a ceremony in their hometown—a celebration of love, family, and the beautiful journey that has brought them to this moment.

Got questions? We've gathered the key details to help make the day smooth and fun! Scroll down for all the answers to help you prepare for the big celebration.
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress to impress—but make it comfy! The vibe is formal to semi-formal, so think dresses or chic separates for the ladies, and dress shirts, slacks, or even a barong for the gents (totally optional but always a classic!). No need to stress about the weather—everything's indoors, so your outfit will stay fabulous all day. Want to match the mood? Our color palette (above image) is a soft and romantic mix of champagne, ivory, gold, dusty pink, and blush. Totally not required, but we won’t stop you from blending right in with the aesthetic 💫

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation. If a plus one was included, they’re absolutely welcome! If not, we kindly ask that you attend solo so we can keep the guest list within our capacity.

Question

Can we give you a gift?

Answer

Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for! 💛 But if you’re thinking of giving something, we would truly appreciate a monetary gift to help us build our honeymoon fund. As part of Filipino tradition, there will also be a prosperity dance during the reception—feel free to join in the fun! 🕺💃

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the church ceremony, head over to our reception at [TBA - we're still finalizing the venue]! There’ll be food, laughter, and lots of celebrating — and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Question

I can’t make it to the wedding — what should I do?

Answer

We’ll miss you, but we completely understand! Life happens. Please RSVP as soon as you can to let us know you won’t be able to attend, so we can plan accordingly. If you’d like, feel free to leave us a note or well wishes — we’d love to hear from you even if we can’t celebrate together in person!

Question

Is the venue indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The entire celebration will take place indoors, so you can expect a comfortable, climate-controlled setting—perfect no matter the weather!

Question

Will there be parking at the venue?

Answer

We’re still finalizing the venue (just a few more details to iron out!), but don’t worry—it’ll be indoors for sure. As for parking, it’s TBA for now, but we’ll update you as soon as we have the info.
