Flight
For folks flying in, our nearest airport is Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). It’s about 20 minutes away from the wedding venue. You can rent a car at the airport, or use Uber and Lyft to get around in the Cities.
The MIA is an amazing free museum with beautiful gardens and seasonal exhibits. It’s also in Glenna’s old neighborhood!
Minnehaha Falls is a beautiful waterfall in the middle of a large public park. Get ice cream at Sebastian Joe’s and dip your toes in the creek!
Grab a meal at one of our favorite restaurants! Lots of vegetarian options. Our personal favorite is the Palak Paneer. (Note: closed on Mondays.)
Wander through the interactive sculpture garden and see the famous “spoon bridge and cherry!” Great place for kids to get out some extra energy.
Go for a swim in our neighborhood lake! The beach has lifeguards, and there are canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats for rent. Bike rentals are also available for the path around the lake!
Another favorite restaurant, two blocks from Glenna’s old apartment! Fun, light, modern vibe. We love the falafel sandwich and spicy potatoes.
We decided to change our celebration to a reception-only for a couple of reasons! We have been legally married since December 3, 2024, and were struggling to find aspects of a wedding ceremony that felt authentic to us. We plan to incorporate speeches and a reading into the group celebration.
We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable during our celebration, so we ask that all guests take a rapid test before coming, and stay home if you’re not feeling well. We also request that folks flying in wear a mask during travel. Thank you in advance for honoring our safety boundaries, and we can’t wait to celebrate together!
We are not planning to do a hotel block since there are so many hotels and rental properties available in the Twin Cities. There are many chain hotels, Air Bnbs, and VRBO rentals available. We live in Minneapolis, but if you’d like to stay in a quieter part of town, we’d recommend looking at accommodations in suburbs like Eagan, St. Louis Park, Edina, and Bloomington.
Comfy and cute! We want you to feel relaxed and comfortable. Our venue is a nature center, so it’s fairly casual. A sundress or a polo and shorts would be perfect.
The parking lot at the nature center is free, and available on a first come, first served basis. You’re welcome to park in the lot if available, or on either side of Franklin Avenue.
The nature center was built in 2020, so it’s pretty modern and accessible! There is a ramp from the parking lot to the main entrance, and handicapped buttons to open the doors. Our reception will be in a single-story, air conditioned space. The grounds around the reception have some sections that are paved, and other spots with dirt and gravel paths.
Really kid-friendly! There is a playground to the left of the main building entrance with lots of cool features (we tested them out!) There are also exhibits in the nature center lobby, including some live local animals! The nature center will be open to the public on the day of our ceremony, so kids can explore during down time.
Our brunch menu is vegetarian, and contains items made with egg, gluten, and dairy. We will have some plain, kid-friendly foods, including fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bread, and jam. If you require specific allergy accommodations, please let us know in your RSVP.
Since it’s a brunch wedding and we’re not big drinkers, there is no alcohol available at the wedding.
