"We found love in a hopeless place" Gisèle and Shema met eight years ago on Wednesday, March 09, 2011, while they were both college students at the National University of Rwanda. This was definitely not coincidental because Shema had his eyes on Gisèle (in all honesty, and so did Jiji) for the past few weeks prior and managed to arrange a meeting through a mutual friend. From that moment on, they have shared life's precious moments in the 8 years of friendship and romance that has brought them to this day. On Saturday, April 13, 2019, Shema proposed to Gisèle at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and asked for her hand in marriage to which she answered "Yes".
