FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We’re keeping it relaxed and comfortable! Think Hawaiian-inspired, light fabrics, and comfy shoes. For the ceremony and reception, anything from a nice sundress or aloha shirt to a casual button-up and slacks will be perfect. And don’t forget sunscreen—it’s a Hawaiian wedding, after all!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! Papa Kona will be serving a variety of delicious Hawaiian-inspired dishes at the reception. Vegetarian, gluten-free, and other dietary options will be available. If you have any food allergies or specific dietary needs, please be sure to specify them when you RSVP so we can accommodate you accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend arriving 15-30 minutes before the ceremony to allow time for parking and getting settled. Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30pm, followed by a reception and celebration.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love our little guests! Children 0-4 are welcome at the wedding, but please let us know in advance if you’ll be bringing little ones so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What are my transportation options to the wedding?

Answer

We want to make getting to the celebration as easy as possible for you. Here are a few transportation options: Shuttle Service: We’ve arranged for a shuttle to transport guests from the Royal Kona Resort to Papa Kona Restaurant & Bar. The shuttle will run at regular intervals starting at 3:30pm and will take you directly to the venue. Ride-Sharing Services: Ride-share apps like Uber and Lyft are available on the island, but we suggest scheduling your ride ahead of time to avoid any delays, especially during peak times. Parking: If you prefer to drive, there’s plenty of parking available. You can park in the church lot directly across the street from Papa Kona, or you can use the parking garage below the restaurant. We recommend arriving early to ensure you find a spot.
