After an Eagles loss, we headed back to Michael and Jorden Neilson’s house. We played some Nintendo Switch, took naps, and were watching Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rocking Eve. With 5 minutes to midnight, I (Gina) started pouring champagne, and Eddie was sneakily trying to find a place to propose. First he tried to get us all to go outside, and I immediately shut that down. It was way too cold in South Bound Brook, NJ. After, he tried to get me to FaceTime my parents, in which I also put the kibosh. This was my NYE with a NYE kiss! I wasn't about to call my mom and dad! Finally, he transitioned to asking how long I had been going to NJ for the New Year. I started scrolling through my gallery trying to find photo evidence, as Eddie went on about how he loves how much effort I put into loving my friends. He made fun of me for bragging about my boyfriend, and told me I never had to say "boyfriend' again. He knelt to the ground and asked, using my full government name, to marry him. I immediately said “Uh, yeah!,” knocked over the champagne in full klutzy fashion, gave Eddie a fat kiss, and stuck my left hand out for that ring! The ring was in an LED-lit box. The light in it made the bling shine beautifully, which helped since we were in the dark and cozy Neilson basement. Without knowing Michael was recording this entire encounter, I exclaimed, “Babe! It’s f****** lit!” This will now be in our memories forever, but it is part of our story. Eddie says his favorite part of the night was when I held him in sobbing embrace for such a long time after the proposal. We’re so grateful to Michael and Jorden for being part of one of the biggest milestones in our lives this far! I'm especially blessed that my little 1 year old sobrina, Jubilee Neilson kept the big secret after being the first to see my ring. My parents, then Eddie’s dad and stepmom were the first phone calls made, and we slowly started telling our family and friends. It’s been such an exciting time for us both, and we are ready to celebrate with everyone on February 16, 2025.

Bridesmaid
Jorden and Gina met in 2013 when Jorden moved in as a Suitemate to their dorm room in Brevard Hall at The University of Tampa. Although Jorden moved back to New Jersey upon her graduation in Fall of 2013, the two only grew closer after multiple visits. Gina has built a second home in New Jersey, and Eddie has made connections there too. Eddie proposed on 12.31.2023 in Jorden and Michael’s basement seconds before the ball dropped. Gina and Eddie are called Tía and Tío respectively by Jorden and Micheal’s beautiful baby, Jubilee, their sweet labradoodle, Millie, and spunky kitty, Mowgli. They soon will welcome a new bundle of joy to their South Bound Brook home in August. Gina also served as a bridesmaid to Jorden in her wedding to Michael in July of 2021. When Jorden was pregnant with Jubilee, she felt her first big kicks the night of Gina’s 30th birthday while they were having a sleepover in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Bridesmaid
Holly and Gina met at Leto High School in 2016. Holly matched Gina’s love for Harry Potter, and their friendship grew exponentially. Holly is the Leadership teacher at Leto and began teaming up with Gina for dress up days during Homecoming week. Eventually becoming inseparable, Holly also took Gina in as a member of her family. From being a dog mom to becoming a human mom, Holly has supported Gina in so much of her adult life. Gina threw Holly her baby shower in June of 2022 before Holly gave birth to her and Keith’s son, KJ in September of 2022. KJ loves his Tía, and is so excited to be a part of all the festivities. When he saw Tía’s ring, he audibly “WOW’d” and wouldn’t let go of her hand. Holly is an amazing mother as well as Gina’s chosen family.
Bridesmaid
Raven and Gina met as flatmates in their Southlands dormitory at Roehampton University during the Fall semester of 2010. Beginning university can be hard for anyone, but especially when you’re in a new country for the first time as an 18 year old fresh out of Catholic school. Raven and Gina became fast friends, and never gave up making an effort to visit one another. Gina was an honorary bridesmaid in Raven and Antony’s wedding in July of 2021. An ocean cannot keep these two from their weekly WhatsApp voice notes updating each other on life. Raven has been so invested in the turn of events from the boy from Hinge, to Gina’s boyfriend, to fiancé that she’ll get to witness Eddie become Gina’s husband in person at the beach in sunny Florida.
Bridesmaid
Katie and Gina met after Gina’s teammate at Leto, Justin Rancourt, said “You have to meet my girlfriend. You guys would get along so well.” He was right! The universe brought Gina Justin so she could meet Katie. Katie and Gina were bound to cross paths both growing up in Tampa just down the street from one another. Gina was lucky enough to be in the Rancourt’s quarantine bubble as Katie’s maternity leave turned into Covid lockdown. Since then, a tiny Penny has turned into one of Gina’s best friends and dance partners. Years of playing mermaids at the Owens’ pool, visiting beaches, and drinking beers on their Seminole Heights residence porch has solidified Katie and her family as part of Gina’s.
Bridesmaid
Sammy and Gina met each other in a guitar shaped pool in Memphis, Tennessee on a trip to Graceland in 2002. Sammy is the only child from her parents Anita and Dean, and the three connected instantly with the Valdez’s. With their love of music and Disney, Sammy and Gina became lifelong pen pals teaching one another about the foreign customs of each other’s home country. Since that first trip, multiple visits to the UK and to Florida have been made by the two families. When together, it’s like no time has passed. Sammy has grown into an amazing mum to her son Jax and little chihuahua (Loki’s UK brother), Rico.
Bridesmaid
Lauren is the little sister that Gina inherited by joining Jorden’s family. She may be younger, but she is wise. She gives advice that makes sense and treats Gina like her 4th sibling. In the past 10 years, Gina has watched Lauren grow from that cute little sister of her best friend to part of her New Jersey family. Lauren is the best TiTi to Gina’s niece, Jubilee, and Gina can’t wait for Lauren to spoil her future children too!

Matt also most recently beat Eddie in their Fantasy Football Final for his first Championship.
