4:00 pm
You obviously do not need to show up exactly at 4pm on Oct 8. We’ll send everyone the check-in codes and you are welcome to come whenever is convenient for you.
6:00 pm
This is going to be a casual family-style dinner to start the weekend. Think Costco potluck. The start time is just a suggestion. Feel free to bring whatever suits your fancy.
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
There will be a couple hours in the day where we go off on our own with the dogs for wedding photos and private vows. Our photographer, Hannah, will be there to take all the pictures we need. That means y’all will have to entertain yourselves during this time.
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
We love an excuse to dress up but this is still an elopement in the mountains. Aim for cocktail/semi formal attire. The plan is to have the ceremony outside on the deck.
6:00 pm
We're planning a catered family-style dinner after the ceremony and pictures. As always, feel free to bring anything you or the kids may want. We’ll have champagne and cake to celebrate!
11:30 am
Restaurant TBD.
10:00 am
We’ll be sad to say goodbye but it’s time to go. There are specific check-out instructions that we’ll need to follow.
House Or Rental
We rented this 6-bedroom house for the wedding. This is where we’ll be staying and where the bulk of wedding festivities will be happening. The guidebook for the rental house is linked below. We’ll send out check-in instructions once we get them. https://www.canva.com/design/DAGXiAqTjv8/CGhbm3xctbqv8aN9pfVJaw/edit
Booze is always appreciated. Food for the other days we're all staying is also helpful but don't feel the need to clean out Costco as we guarantee someone else is also raiding Costco beforehand. The kitchen looks fully stocked so you’re welcome to cook too!
We have a wedding planner, Becca, who will be there day-of to help with the day but we will probably have some decor and set up that needs to be done before the ceremony, like rearranging chairs on the deck.
Think cocktail/semi formal for the ceremony. We would love to see everyone dressed up but keep in mind that this is an elopement in the mountains so no need to bust out the tux or ball gowns. Consider sunscreen as the ceremony will be outside on the deck. Otherwise, wear whatever is comfortable for the rest of the weekend. There will probably be photo opportunities so you may want to bring at least one outfit nicer than sweatpants.
We are happy to celebrate with family and certainly don't expect any gifts. We also don't want to add clutter to our lives just for the sake of gift giving. If you feel strongly about getting us something, the registry and honeymoon fund are both linked. Feel free to use the registry for future gift ideas as well.
The house we rented has 5 bedrooms in the main house and a separate studio. We’ll be staying in the studio with the dogs but the remaining rooms in the house are all fair game. There are two bedrooms on the lower level, two on the main level, and one upstairs.
You’re welcome to come and go as you please. Consider it a mini vacation with family. We can all just hang out at the house every day and play games or go for hikes in the Smokies. We don’t have to do everything together either because trying to corral 12 adults and 4 kids is not an easy feat.
We want to keep this intimate with just immediate family (AKA parents and siblings’ families).
