Yes. The reception will include a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres and an open bar with beer, wine, and spirits. It will be followed by a banquent dinner, followed by dancing with music provided by a DJ.
For the cocktail hour, four different hors d'oeuvres will be served: Coconut Shrimp with Pinapple-Tai Chili Sauce, Mini Pan-Seared Crab Cakes with Remoulade, Tomato Mozzarello & Basil Bruschetta, and Bourbon Cola BBQ Bison Meatballs. Yes please. Entrees can be selected by you and your accompanying guest in advance when you RSVP on the wedding website. We ask that you please do this as soon as possible to assist the venue with meal planning. Note: The menu selection appears as a pop up drop down menu only after you hit the "Will Attend" option. Be sure to hit the submit button after making your selection!
The ceremony is currently planned to be held outside in the space immediately behind The Cove next to Fawn Lake. However, weather can be unpredicatable and there is a "plan B" to hold it indoors inside of The Cove if the weather is unsuitable for an outdoor ceremony. Same answer for the cocktail hour.
Yes, a coat rack is available inside The Cove.
Because the wedding and the reception is thoroughly planned to accomodate a specific number of people identified in advance, additional people beyond any plus-one guests whom you've already shared with the planning team unfortunately cannot be added. If for some reason your already indentified plus-one cannot attend, you can then substitute another adult as your plus-one guest. If that scenario occurs, please let the marrying couple know ASAP.
Most vehicle or cell phone navigation systems should take you right to it. In case it doesn't, The Cove is located at the distant end of Longstreet Drive, the same road in which you entered Fawn Lake Country Club. The Cove is located across the street from the Country Club's tennis court complex.
Yes. Its advised that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to allow for parking and ceremony seating.
Traffic coming from the DC area to The Cove in Spotsylvania can be highly variable. Because the wedding is on a Sunday, traffic should be lighter than say, a normal work day. I suggest you use the navigation app Waze. It uses both historical and near real-time traffic patterns to predict drive times. It also allows the user to plan their optimum trip start times in advance.
The reception starts at 3:30 PM immediately after the ceremony with the cocktail reception, followed by the dinner to include champaign toasts and cake cutting, followed by dancing and music with an open bar. The reception concludes at 8:30 PM.
The couple is requesting there be no gifts. Your presence in helping the couple celebrate is already a cherished gift.
