We recommend using Uber, InDrive, and Taxi Taxi. If you are going to take a taxi on the street, ask first the value of the service. Upon exiting the airport, there is a taxi window where you enter your destination and receive a ticket to give the airport taxi driver with the price already stated. The cost from the airport to the walled city is approximately $30,000 COP. - Recomendamos usar Uber, InDrive, y Taxi Taxi. WHAT CURRENCY IS USED IN COLOMBIA?

The Colombian Peso. Most places in Cartagena accept credit cards, but you will need cash for taxis (if not using Uber) and to purchase items from street vendors and mom-and-pop shops. You will also need cash if you're planning to take a day trip outside of the city.

WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO GET AROUND CARTAGENA?

If you are staying within the Walled City, everything is walking distance! We encourage you to walk and explore the city. However, if you prefer the comfort of a car ride, then we suggest using Uber. Make sure to download the UBER app and link it to a credit card with no foreign transaction fees prior to travel.

Answer
Short answer is, yes! Cartagena is one of the most visited and safest cities in all of Colombia. Like any international tourist destination, "no des papaya" - meaning don't make yourself an easy target for pickpocketing.
