The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort is about 30 minutes from the Kona Airport and about 15-20 minutes from the wedding venue in Waimea. In 2018, as a newly rebranded resort, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort and it's $50 million renovation, continues to create an outstanding resort experiences within the 1800+ acre Mauna Kea Resort. The resort stretches along its namesake white-sand beach on the Island of Hawaii. The Kohala Coast is known for its world-class shoreline, as well as for cultural and archaeological gems nestled between centuries-old lava fields. The resort’s contemporary style contrasts with lush, manicured gardens and the endless blues of the sky and the ocean. Four reimagined dining venues are inspired by the island’s bounty. The Westin Hapuna is the property next to Mauna Kea, but because the Mauna Kea will be under construction we got room rates, no resort fee, complimentary parking, etc. PS. The Kamuela Inn

The Kamuela Inn is less than 5 minutes away from the wedding venue (one minute from the Waimea Lodge) and about 50 minutes from the Kona airport. Set back from the Kawaihae Rd (H19), to ensure privacy and quiet, with gorgeous views of Mauna Kea. Under new ownership and newly renovated, with chic paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) design, all rooms have new pillowtop mattresses and sheets. Delightful organic Ola Tropical Hawaiian Apothecary bath amenities are made in Hilo*** We have 24 rooms blocked and is where Mercy and family will be staying with other family members. Once you stay with us, you are part of our Ohana, or family*** --- This is a cozy and upcountry Waimea feel lodge, less than 5 minutes from local restaurants, parks, stores and the venue. There are tons of Airbnb & VRBO options on the Big Island. Just make sure you are within 30 minutes of the town of Waimea/Kamuela. *One of the more popular locations for Airbnb's is in Waikaloa, which is where AJ was born and raised until she was 5 - it is a great, local little town with everything you'd need nearby and only about 15-20 minutes from the wedding venue.
