Jake and I met in Thomson Pass, Alaska in the summer of 2013 at The Tsaina Lodge. We were fellow coworkers that summer, and although Jake was a small town guy, and I was a city girl, we just clicked. I remember Jake had a sticker on his vehicle that summer which read "I love animals.. they're delicious". Being a vegetarian of 18 years at that time, I jokingly told him I wasn't sure if we could be friends.... Soon after that interaction, we became each other's go to adventure buddy. We found that we both shared a passion for adventure, a love for the outdoors, a willingness to try new things, and an appreciation of humor. That summer we did everything from river crossing to blueberry picking, glacier viewing, fire building, shooting a gun from the top of a cliff, to skateboarding and jogging back to the lodge side by side when Jake's truck died. Since then, we have experienced many more adventures together, as well as a tremendous amount of personal and relational growth. We have discovered that we make a really great team. We are so excited to embark upon the biggest adventure yet, and we are immensely blessed to have people like you by our side to celebrate with us.
