It started...

on a chilly October morning, somewhere along the Lava Canyon trail, when Bridger asked, "Do you wanna go steady?" Flora agreed without hesitation, but didn't really know what it meant. Seven years later, here we are: ready to put pen to paper. We will be married in a small, private ceremony in the morning on Saturday, October 3rd. We hope you will join us later that evening to celebrate with food, a list of favorite dancing songs, paper crowns and champagne.

Travel

Below find a list of hotels and recommendations for where to stay. We've reserved a room block at the River's Edge Hotel. Alternatively, Portland has many small hotels and Airbnbs, if you'd like to venture out on your own. Some of our favorite neighborhoods nearby are Sellwood, Woodstock and Richmond.

Hotel

River's Edge Hotel Portland, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

455 South Hamilton Court, Portland, OR 97239

River's Edge hotel is located along the Willamette River in SW Portland, off of I-5, near Oregon Health and Science University (where Flora works). We have reserved a room block here, with discounted rates that you can access through the link below, or by calling and mentioning you are part of the Richey-Caldwell Wedding. Please note, there is a parking fee of $35 per night. MAX (orange line), The Portland Street Car, and several TriMet buses have stops nearby. The hotel also has easy access to the South Waterfront Greenway for walking, running and biking.

Hotel

The Society Hotel - Portland

203 Northwest 3rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97209

The Society Hotel is a small, fun "boutique" hotel in downtown Portland. They have a collection of rooms and suites, as well as a hostel-style bunk room, a fun roof-top deck and a cafe with yummy food and drinks.

Travel Note

Getting around!

We love public transportation and multi-modal travel! Maybe you do too! Portland has an expansive transportation system that includes buses, trains, a streetcar, even an aerial tram! By far our favorite way to get around the city is by bike. Consider bringing a helmet, renting a bike through the Nike Bike Share program and experience some unparalleled bicycle infrastructure! Ride Shares like Lyft and Uber are also convenient options.

Registry

We are so excited to celebrate with you! We can't wait to dance, to play, to wear fun clothes, to eat, tell stories and clink our glasses together! Your presence is truly the best gift. If you'd like to contribute in another way, we've created a few funds for future experiences, projects and comforts along the way. To learn more about each gift option click on the quotation marks at the bottom of the photo or the “contribute” link. Thank you for being part of our life and for witnessing this next step for us - we are endlessly grateful!

Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Flora Richey and Bridger Caldwell
We have been lucky to make Portland our home, and are excited for you to experience this place. The city sits equidistant between the Cascade Mountains and the Pacific Ocean offering a range of things to see, places to play, and other sensory delights. Here are some of our recommendations:

Hoyt Arboretum

4000 Southwest Fairview Boulevard, Portland, OR 97221

A vast arboretum with hiking trails and a picnic area. In close proximity to Washington Park, the International Rose Test Garden, Portland Zoo and the Japanese Garden.

Mt. Tabor Park

Southeast Salmon Street, Portland, OR 97215

One of our favorite parks with a great view of the city as well as Mt. Hood!

The Heist Food Carts

4727 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard, Portland, OR 97206

Portland is famous for our food cart pods, places you can go with a variety of cuisine options. The Heist is our favorite at the moment.

Portland Art Museum

1219 Southwest Park Avenue, Portland, OR 97205

Newly renovated and reopened and located downtown in the Park Blocks, near Portland State University. Stop in on Saturday after the Portland Farmer's Market!

A cool indoor marketplace with some higher-end stuff and small affordable knick-knacks.

Guardian Games

345 Southeast Taylor Street, Portland, OR 97214

A large selection of beers from around the world!

Double Dragon
