Felicia and Matt tell most people they met in the last weeks of the 2022 campaign at an event…but that’s not entirely true. The real first time they ever met was in 2018, but they were still at a campaign event. Matt thought Felicia was so cute that he had to give her his business card, which she kept all those years until they’d run into each other at that 2022 rally. Felicia walked up to Matt and very normally said “You look familiar.” Matt immediately blew it and said “Yeah, you’re Felicia.” Luckily for Matt, Felicia didn’t get too much of the ick and they talked more than worked. Before Felicia was about to leave, Matt walked up and - in front of her boss! - asked for her phone number “to stay in touch for GOTV.” Subtle. Their first date was the Sunday before Election Day and they’ve never looked back.
