How he proposed...

We were in Tokyo, when one day he insisted we go admire the sakura and take photos dressed nicely. We spent nearly 3 hours in that small park surrounded by cherry blossom trees, soaking in the moment. Then, he asked a couple of tourists to take a few photos of us. After just a few seconds, he was there - down on one knee and a ring in his hand, asking if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him!

Travel

We recommend that our guests fly into Catania Fontanarossa International Airport (CTA). In Sicily, taxis are not always readily available, so we suggest either taking the public bus from the airport to Siracusa or renting a car for more flexibility during your stay. For accommodation, we recommend renting a hotel room or an Airbnb in Ortygia, Siracusa’s historic center, where you’ll be in the heart of the city and within walking distance of the church. Alternatively, you may choose Hotel Residence Noto Marina, conveniently located directly in front of our reception venue.

Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kartik Soni and Federica Fortuna
Sicily is a beautiful and vast island, full of things to see and do. We recommend renting a car at the airport so you can fully enjoy your trip and have the freedom to explore at your own pace. Start with my hometown, Siracusa. Its most beautiful area is Ortygia, the historic center—get lost in its charming little streets, where you’ll find bars, restaurants, boutiques, and enjoy unforgettable sunset walks. For beach lovers, there are many wonderful spots nearby: Fontane Bianche and Arenella for sandy beaches, or Ognina and Plemmirio for those who love crystal-clear waters and cliff jumping. Just a 30-minute drive from Siracusa, you can visit the picturesque fishing village of Marzamemi or explore the stunning Baroque town of Noto. About one hour away is the lively city of Catania, famous for its bustling markets, restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. And around two hours from Siracusa, we highly recommend visiting Taormina, glamorous town and true symbol of the Italian Dolce Vita.

Caseificio Borderi

6 Via Emmanuele de Benedictis, Siracusa, Sicilia 96100, Italy

A must-visit food stop in Siracusa, located at the Ortygia street market. Famous for its legendary panini filled with the freshest local cheeses, cured meats, and vegetables. A true Sicilian experience and a favorite among locals.

Pizzeria Anima e Core

9 Via Claudio Mario Arezzo, Siracusa, Sicilia 96100, Italy

One of the best pizza spots

Bar Pasticceria Midolo

86 Corso Umberto I, Siracusa, Sicilia 96100, Italy

If you want to try the best and mind-blowing arancini in the world, try Bar Midolo!

Schiticchio in Via Cavour

Another good option for pizza

Il Cucchiaino

79 Via Cavour, Siracusa, Sicilia 96100, Italy

Gelatoooo

Mangiafico Voglia Matta

34 Corso Umberto I, Siracusa, Sicilia 96100, Italy

More gelato & granita. Granita is a traditional Sicilian iced treat, typically enjoyed with a brioche. Almond granita is a classic choice for breakfast, while lemon granita is perfect in the afternoon for a refreshing break

FAQs

If you have more questions, feel free to whatsapp me +971508243805 :)
Question

Do I need a visa to attend the wedding?

Answer

If you are not an EU/Schengen country citizen, you may need a Schengen visa to travel to Italy. Please check the requirements for your country well in advance to ensure you have enough time to apply.

Question

How long in advance shall I confirm my spot?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to confirm their attendance as soon as possible, ideally a minimum of 6 weeks before the wedding, so we can reserve your spot and make all the arrangements for a seamless experience on our special day.

Question

What is the theme/dress code for the wedding day?

Answer

We kindly ask our guests to avoid wearing white, which is traditionally reserved for the bride, and black, which in Italy is generally associated with funerals. For the church ceremony, ladies are asked to cover their shoulders and legs as a sign of respect. Beyond that, we encourage light, colorful, and elegant summer attire suitable for celebrating in beautiful Sicily.

Question

What time should we arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the ceremony starts.

Question

What is the name of the reception venue?

Answer

The venue is Villadorata Eleonora, located in SP 34, near the hotel Noto Marina.

Question

I’m having trouble finding the wedding venue on the map. What should I do?

Answer

Don’t worry! The venue can sometimes be tricky to locate on Google Maps. If you’re having trouble, please contact us and we’ll provide detailed directions, landmarks, or even share a location pin to make it easier to find.

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

Parking is available at the reception venue. However, for the church ceremony in Ortygia, please use a proper paid parking outside the area, as Ortygia is a residential zone.

Question

Will there be food for dietary restrictions?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions, allergies, or preferences.

Question

Can kids attend?

Answer

Absolutely! We love having children at our celebration.

Question

Can we bring our cameras or take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, you’re welcome to capture the moments!

Question

Do you have a wedding registry? Can we give cash gifts?

Answer

We don’t have a registry and kindly prefer cash gifts.

Question

How many days should I stay in Sicily?

Answer

It depends on your availability. Visiting Sicily in June, especially if for the first time, is really magical. I'd recommend staying at least one week.

Question

Do we need to rent a car?

Answer

We recommend renting a car from the airport if you want to explore Sicily at your own pace. It’s the easiest way to visit nearby towns, beaches, and attractions.

Question

What local currency should we bring? Can we use cards?

Answer

In Sicily we use the Euro (€). Most restaurants and hotels accept cards, but it’s helpful to have cash for smaller shops or markets.
