Flight
Eau Claire does have a tiny airport, but has just a handful of flights a day. It's more likely you'll be flying into Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP.) That is about 1.5 hours from Chippewa Falls, WI, so you'll need to rent a car or take the Groome shuttle. We know both of these options have a cost, and we don't want that to be prohibitive or a stressor for anyone. We can likely arrange a ride for you with someone coming from the Twin Cities if you let us know in advance.
Travel Note
If you are flying in, you'll likely fly into the largest, nearby airport which is in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. The wedding is in Chippewa Falls, WI which is about 1.5 hours away. If you'd prefer not to rent a car, the Groome shuttle is a great option. I've taken it several times and it's clean, efficient, and has nice drivers. - How to book: book in advance, online at https://groometransportation.com/minneapolis-st-paul-airport/eau-claire/reservations/ - Times: the shuttle runs about every hour from MSP - Eau Claire. The first shuttle of the day is at ~4:25AM and the last of the night is at 12:35AM (the next day.) Find most up to date schedule on their website. - Price: $55 one way (a little pricey, I know, but for comparison an Uber would be roughly double the price) - The shuttle will drop you off at their office in Eau Claire which is 20 minutes from the wedding in Chippewa Falls. We do have Uber in Eau Claire. We can also arrange to have a friend or family member pick you up as long as you let us know in advance. If you have any questions, let us know!
Irvine Park is the jewel of Chippewa Falls! It's home to over 300 acres of natural and scenic beauty and a great place to take a walk through the woods. The park also has a free zoo that contains cougars, bears, bison, tigers, and many other animals.
Take a tour of the historic brewery in Chippewa Falls and be introduced to 156 years of beer brewing and six generations of Leinenkugel family history during our Legacy Brewery Tour.
Great coffee, light breakfast, and pastries!
Historic and delicious ice cream spot that has been in the same location since the 40s!
Great place to walk and hike! Also this would be the best campground if you are interested in camping. Fun Fact: Jack Dawson referenced Lake Wissota in the movie Titantic!
Please wear whatever you want and what you feel most comfortable in. If you'd prefer some guidance, summer semi-formal is perfect (think summer dresses, button ups, slacks, etc.)
Definitely! This will be a kid and baby-friendly wedding. We will have kids meals, activities, and even a play room. Please reach out if you have any specific questions about kids at the wedding!
Yes! We will serve appetizers right after the ceremony at 4:45/5pm during the mingle time before the reception. Dinner will be served at 6pm. There will also be miscellaneous snacks and desserts available throughout the night.
