We met on a hot summer day at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, 2009. We were there for Leadership Lab, a Christian leadership camp and were both in the same small group. Kait was instantly smitten by this little idiot the moment they laid eyes on him. He was indifferent to this quiet little nerd. But after a few days in the same group, a friendship blossomed, planted in a soil of kindness and a shared love of nerdy things. After a few years, a long-distance (North Dakota - Illinois) romance began to bud, this time in much richer soil. Ever the romantic, Kaitlin eventually asked Evan to Prom, senior year in high school. He said yes. And the rest is history. We have shared over 10 years together and are (finally) declaring to our loved ones, and the world, that we will continue to grow together until the end.
