Our StoryOur Story
We met through our mutual friend, Allan, who invited Esparanza to Paul’s 31st birthday in January 2017. Before the party, Paul reached out to Esparanza on Facebook and they met for dinner at Torii Japanese Restaurant. Esparanza showed off her singing skills that night, and the next day, they had their first official date at Michael's Pizza in Modesto, followed by an unplanned trip to the gun range. Esparanza knew Paul was the one when he stuck by her side during a tough time when she was ill. For Paul, it was when he saw how much she loved his kids, Caydan and Jaxon, as her own. Paul proposed at Little Dragon on Hwy 49 near Coulterville, overlooking Merced River and Lake McClure. Esparanza was totally surprised! They’ve supported each other since day one, and what excites them most is living happily ever after together.

Yes, we kindly request semi-casual attire for our wedding. Since the ceremony and portions of the reception will be outdoors in a mountain setting, we recommend dressing comfortably. For ladies, sundresses or dressy separates with flats or wedges are ideal, and a light jacket or shawl is a good idea for the evening. For men, dress pants or chinos with a button-down shirt are perfect—ties and jackets are optional.

For parents bringing children onsite during the ceremony, a cabin will be available as a quiet space (please note, no caregiver is provided). Transportation will not be provided between the hotels and the ceremony. We recommend arranging your own transportation if needed. Frontier Cab and Courtesy Cab operate in the area, but ride-share services may be limited, so planning ahead is encouraged. If you’re staying nearby, carpooling is also a great option!
