They took their time establishing a wonderful and strong friendship which didn’t take long to turn into love and a commitment to take on life's journey and adventures together. Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who will be walking down the aisle

Jen Jensen

Maid of Honor

Tanya met Jen on one of her many visits to the Big Island while visiting her brother. Jen soon realized that she loved it here and moved to the island soon after. They became quick friends thanks to her amazing and kind spirit and quick wit. She has been present throughout Tanya and Eric's relationship and has been there to watch their love grow.

Sean Tatsumi

Groomsman

Sean and Eric met in middle school and have been friends since. Sean moved to the Big Island in 2013, and through his persistence and annoyance, convinced Eric to do the same, leading him down the path that brought Tanya and Eric together

Kris Thorsen

Bridesmaid

Kris was the brides first friend on the Island and provided Tanya a home for her first year when she moved here. They bonded over Kona coffee, morning runs and living room dance parties. Kris's sense of humor always had Tanya in fits of laughter and they often could be found up late into the evening chatting away (over many pints of ice cream).

Ryan Furuya

Groomsman

Ryan and Eric met in high school through music, where they both played low brass instruments. They've been fast friends for years and share many of the same interests including motorsports and travel.

Jenn Meyers

Bridesmaid

After begging for another female bartender to be hired at the restaurant she worked at, Tanya's wish had finally been granted and in walked Jenn. Everyone thought they were sisters (and they often get asked that). Jenn is full of spirit and a zest for life and loves to travel. She and the bride have been fortunate enough to take many amazing trips together around the world.

Guiseppe Devivo

Groomsman

Giuseppe(Joe) and Eric met while they both still lived on Oahu. Joe and Eric met and connected through mutual friends and involvement in automotive and motorsports circles. Joe now lives in California with his Wife Tammy, but is still a constant enabler of Erics (and Erics Mother, Denise) automotive pursuits.

Whit Poindexter

Officiant

Tanya met Whit as one of the regulars at the restaurant she worked at many years ago. He is a big part of the reason she finally took the leap to get scuba certified (which led her to meeting her amazing husband-to-be). They chose Whit to officiate as he has always been such an amazing friend (and dive buddy) to them both and they each admire, respect and love him and his amazing wife, Lori. The bride and groom hope to have a relationship as wonderful as theirs in the years to come.

Kaia Malstrom

Flower Girl

Kaia is Tanya's amazingly wonderful god-daughter. The bride is so thrilled that her first trip to the Big Island will be to celebrate their wedding!

Nathan Fleming

Ring Bearer

The ring bearer, Nathan, is the grooms wonderful, funny, and kind nephew!

Ex. Sarah Fortune (not The Fortune Family or Dr. & Mr. Fortune)

Registry

The greatest gift we could receive is the presence of our friends and family on this special occasion. We have been blessed in our lives and do not have significant material needs and so we are not conventionally registered - But - if you know us, you know we love to travel, and in doing so make memories to share with our loved ones! So in lieu of a gift list, we welcome any contributions(airline miles, vouchers, monetary contributions, etc) to our Honeymoon fund (Australia 2025!) and future adventures whatever those may be

FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please provide your RSVP no later than August 1st, 2024

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail Attire: Elegance encouraged. Please note, the wedding and reception will be outdoors. It will most likely be warm during the ceremony and should cool off at night. There is always a good possibility of rain, but the reception will take place under a tent. The entire evening will be on a lawn, so stilettos are strongly discouraged.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are not registered, as we have all the material items we need. But if you know us, you know we love to travel! So we welcome any monetary or travel related contributions(airline miles, vouchers, etc) to our Honeymoon fund(Australia 2025!) and future adventures

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love to watch the children laugh and play, this is going to be an adults only kind of evening

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Our wonderful Chef will do her best to accommodate dietary restrictions. Kindly let us know at your earliest convenience so that we may make plans accordingly.

Question

Can I invite a guest?

Answer

If your invitation says "and guest," then we would love to see you and your significant other, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

For all the days along the way
