We will keep you up to date as we watch the forecast but it will be chilly (around 48°) at the top of the mountain so bring layers. We won't be up there long, and hot drinks and light food will be served to warm the body and hands. In the afternoon, the reception and cocktail hour at the farm will likely be mostly sunny with a few clouds, and 85° with a slight breeze.
If it’s a light rain we will have the ceremony at Mt Walker as planned. If the weather looks more severe we will let all who have RSVPed know the backup plan.
We will move the ceremony to coincide with the reception location and time (taking a break from festivities for the ceremony at the best time, likely sunset:) The Meadow House at 381 N Sweetgrass Lane in Shelton.
There will be breakfast served with coffee and tea. People are more than welcome to hike around and explore the area so bring hiking boots or tennis shoes if you plan to walk around. There will be a long break between the ceremony and cocktail hour so you’ll have plenty of time to explore, hike, and nap.
47.78860° N, 122.90616° W These coordinates will take you to the parking for the Mt Walker North Viewpoint. At the top of the mountain the road splits for each viewpoint, head left to the north view point. There will be a sign located to the left of the walking trail with minimal parking here. If this area is full, someone will direct you to the south viewpoint and we’ll shuttle you back to the north viewpoint. Follow the stone lined path to the viewpoint. There is plenty of standing room but no seating for the ceremony. The ceremony will last less than 30min.
No, you don’t need an AWD vehicle but there are potholes so keep an eye out as you’re driving.
Yes, there are two drop toilets near the main parking area and another two at the south viewpoint parking area. Bring your own toilet paper if you’re particular like Eric is.
