Our story began on a summer night on the balcony of our friend's apartment in Marquette (the college town for both of us). Emma was hanging out with some of her rugby friends, before heading downtown altogether. Nick later arrived, and we kept sharing glances of interest. We were both on the balcony when Nick began dunking on Emma with a little tikes basketball which Emma thought was goofy yet charming. We shared laughs and felt a connection though shortly after, we went our separate ways for the night only knowing of each other through mutual friends. The very next day, Nick and Emma ran into each other at McCarty's Cove while both of us were with some friends. We all hung out on the beach for a little while getting to know each other. Emma messaged Nick the next day via Instagram, and we went back to McCarty's Cove where we talked for nearly 4 hours getting to know each other. From there, we began hanging out more - hiking, beach days, catching sunsets. August 4th, Nick asked Emma to be his girlfriend!

The fall of 2019 came, and Nick returned from his Europe trip in mid-September while Emma was bartending and planning her move back home. Nick took a chance to move to metro Detroit as well. We spent 3 years living on the lower east side of MI - growing as individuals while also as a couple. In late September of 2022, Nick proposed to Emma at a little nature preserve, and we were packing to make a big move together to the west side of MI - Grand Haven. We have since been exploring our home with our two pups, Rosie and Teddy!
