How We Met

December 12th, 2024

By the end of last year Emma and Henry were feeling a little low for not being able to find their better half. They both had been trying and wanting to things with someone else worked out but sadly for them it didn’t happen yet. So on December 12th Emma decided to go bachata dancing with two girl friends, and Henry used to go to the same place sometimes to dance, the place was located in Provo, Utah. When she got there, Emma went to put her jacket in a cubby and dropped her wallet on the way. A handsome guy (Henry) went to pick it up for her and then asked her to dance. He was really good at dancing and really nice. Throughout the night they danced some times together. The first few times Henry asked Emma and the last few times Emma asked Henry. They talked throughout the night and found out they had a lot in common like their love of hiking, swimming, dancing and both wanted to do a half marathon the following year. At the end of the night Henry got Emma's Instagram, Emma checked his Instagram when she got home and was more interested seeing how outdoorsy he was so she sent him a message. Even though Henry liked much Emma at first sight, he didn’t believe Emma actually liked him, but after seeing Emma showed interest by sending a text, he asked her out the next day for the following week. She said yes and they went to the tree of life (a lit up tree in Draper). They talked and had fun rolling down the hill then Henry pulled out Martinelli's bottles and they sipped and watched the lights. Afterwards they played on the playground and Emma told Henry about her nutria job and he thought that was crazy but cool. After that night Henry was impressed and very happy for meeting with Emma, he was impressed by how good girl Emma seemed to him; he wished she was the right for him because he felt enchanted by her. They had such a good time, and they went out again two nights later and went to the hot springs. It was a magical night and their bond grew as they got to know each other, open up and found out how much more they had in common like liking parties, their love of food, family and most importantly their devotion to God. At the end of the night Henry gave Emma a Christmas present. Emma went back home to California for Christmas and New Years and Henry stayed in town with her sisters. While she was there Henry and her texted all the time. She saw how committed he was by his consistency and their relationship grew and grew. On Christmas she opened the present and it was a stuffed scarlet macaw. She felt so touched from the gift that after two dates he got her what seemed to be the perfect gift. It was from then that she considered that he might really be a potential future eternal companion. She got back from California and they went on their third date. He came to her door with flowers then took her to the outside of the temple. It was so magical, feelings had grown in their time apart, and it was there that they shared their first kiss. They kept going out for months after that, they went on adventures, danced the night away, and accomplished their goal of running a half marathon together. They shared many special moments until they decided they wanted this to last forever, so Henry asked Emma to marry him.
