Emily's generous Hinge radius brought Carter's profile across her iPhone screen, and she was immediately struck by his carefully curated selection of live concert photographs. When he arrived in his Ford Ranger (2011, 4-cylinder, automatic) she knew he was the one she would choose to go pick up a wheeled kitchen cart off Marketplace before they left for their first date. Four years and countless no-contact curbside furniture/plant purchases later, their relationship is just as strong as the Ranger (since it received its latest rebuilt motor). They would love to have your company as they celebrate their union in beautiful Sylva, NC.

We'll have drinks and games before the ceremony, and we encourage folks to arrive up to 90 minutes early to help keep the shuttles running smoothly. Parking is extremely limited at the venue, so guests will need to park at one of our off-site shuttle locations. PLEASE OUTLINE BELOW WHICH SHUTTLE SHOP YOU WILL BE USING: - Hotel Sylva - Holiday Inn/Microtel Inn) - Best Western - Joe and Carolyns ( Ahseville Folks, you know who you are) - Skyland Service Center (For those not staying at any of the places listed above) These options can also be found under the "Travel" tab on this page. There will be two food trucks onsite - Cecilia's Kitchen (empanadas and savory crepes) and Tin Can Pizza (...pizza). We'll have plenty of each, but please make a note in your RSVP which of the two you'd prefer. It's fine if you try both. Seriously. Look at what an adventurous eater you are.

Travel Note
There isn't an airport in Sylva, but guests planning to fly in for the wedding have a couple of options. Asheville Regional Airport has surprisingly affordable flights from a lot of cities (shout out Allegiant), and is located about an hour away. The next closest options are Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (2:30 from the venue) or Charlotte Douglas International Airport (3:00 from the venue).
Please enter the first and last name of one member of your party below.
If you're responding for you and a guest (or your family), you'll be able to RSVP for your entire group on the next page.
If you aren't staying at one of the places served by the shuttle (see the "Travel" tab), please park at the Skyland Service Center in Sylva. This will be the primary shuttle point and it's okay to leave your car there overnight if you need to.
Sylva doesn't really do the rideshare app thing. It's a pretty small town, and that sort of service is few and far between. If you need help getting to and from the wedding, your best bet is to make use of the shuttle service either from your hotel or a designated parking area in Sylva.
We will have wine, beer, and 2 cocktail options for those who drink alcohol. N/A beers and a variety of other non-alcoholic options will be available for those who choose not to. We ask those who do partake to have a plan in place for how to get home safely, be it a designated driver or our shuttle service.
We ask that if it's easy, please leave the children at home. If it's easier to just bring them, we're fine with children under 5. Please let us know if you plan to bring a child so we can accommodate. There will be kids there, so dont stress too much about this decision.
Just dress nicer than usual and don't sweat it too much. If you wear a suit, you won't be overdressed, but if you don't, then you won't necessarily be underdressed. People who like to wear dresses are welcome to do so but not required. There aren't any bridesmaids/groomsmen, so there aren't any colors to avoid wearing. Other than white. This is an outdoor wedding, and you'll be gently encouraged to square dance after the ceremony. Heels probably won't work at our venue, and we'd suggest comfortable shoes for moving around. Note, the bride will be wearing boots, so feel free to go as comfortable as boots, sneakers, whatever. Fall in Western NC can also be really hot or really cold - keep an eye on the weather beforehand and plan accordingly. It's not uncommon to need a cardigan or light jacket in the evenings during October. Emily Edit: Jewel Tones, Fall Florals, Boots, Sweaters, Velvets/Fun Textures. BUT OVERALL COZY.
We aren't registered anywhere, and we don't expect our guests to bring gifts. We're also aware people are going to bring gifts anyway, so if you're looking for guidance in that department then we'd say we're probably all set on home goods and stuff like that. Emily and I have been living in sin for more than three years now, and we already have monogrammed towels and nice dishes. Check back on this part of the page periodically to see if we've come up with a subtler, classier way to say "we'd really prefer cash to a new crockpot."
Nope! Our caller will walk you through the steps, and dancers of all experience levels will enjoy swinging and swaying to our lovely band. Remember, only one person can possibly be the worst square dancer at the wedding. Statistically speaking, it's fairly unlikely that's you. Make sure you have comfy shoes to wear on the dance floor!
Yes! Bring an instrument and join in on the fun. We will have indoor storage for instruments available. Just no amps, please.
There are a variety of cute animals on the property, some of which look like they might enjoy being pet/ridden/fed slices of Emily's family sausage recipe. Unfortunately, we can't let you do any of those things. Trust us, we really want to involve the goats in the ceremony. It's an insurance thing.
Check our "Things to Do" page for a better list of restaurants/coffeeshops/trails/activities. Things we have a lot of include breweries, coffeeshops, outdoor recreation, music and arts. Things we don't have a lot of include nightclubs and food options after 11 p.m.
This wedding weekend is happening 30 min from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and it's peak fall in Sylva. We recommend (if you can) enjoying the surrounding nature during this time. Free entry - pay to park.
Need we say more?
Check out Waynesville for a cute little mountain town (aside from Sylva). Frog level brewing, BooJum brewing, and getting coffee at orchard is always a great option.
One of our favorite things is to take a snack and a drink to a lookout somewhere on the BRP. Great hikes off of it, too.
Take a walk around Lake Junaluska (about 2 miles). Super easy stop off from highway to stretch your feet in a cute setting.
