November 1, 2025

Benton, AR

Schedule

Please be aware that this wedding will contain two ceremonies. The first, traditional Christian ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm. An early dinner and reception will be provided after the first ceremony. Guests are encouraged to partake of the food and the drinks while the bridal party finishes photos. Guests will be joined by the newly married couple once the photos have been taken. The second, ancient Norse/Viking ceremony will follow shortly after the meal is complete. This ceremony has been chosen as a festive element by the bride and groom. Once the second ceremony has ended, cake will be cut and served to all guests. For the remainder of the evening, guests will be encouraged to eat, drink, dance, and engage in the general merriment of the day. We ask that all guests depart the venue by 8pm.

FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Thanks for asking! In general, semi-formal. So, no jeans, please. However, feel free to dress according to either ceremony. If you want to dress for a traditional wedding, we are happy for you to do so. If you want to dress for a Viking wedding, complete with furs and/or weaponry, that's also allowed (and encouraged). Think of how epic the photos will be.

Question

Is this wedding REALLY child-free?

Answer

Yes! Other than our two, perfect children and the special exception ring bearer, no one under the age of 12 is invited to this event. You've seen the subhuman species they call "child" before, right? Who would bring a wild animal to a wedding? Seems weird.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Never in the history of the Bass clan has there ever been a dry wedding, and who are we to spit in the face of centuries of tradition? Besides, this is a Viking wedding, folks. There's drinking in the ceremony itself. Dry wedding? Nah! Wet enough to row, row, row your boats home.

Question

What about the feasting?

Answer

Our Viking wedding will have a variety of BBQ and meats, along with several sides. Banana pudding will also be served for dessert, along with the cake. If you have special dietary restrictions, that is mostly a fun fact you can share with others at the reception, as the menu is set.
