Heck of a journey, eh?

One tinder date, two pubs, seven pints, four months of "but we're not exclusive, right?", one messy reckoning weekend of finally figuring out "oh, we're in love, actually", three lock downs, one move to Nottingham, one move to Bristol, six years and one proposal later (with a LOT of fun, growth and love along the way) - hell, it's been quite the ride! Always a matter of "when" and not "if" - well, we're finally tying the knot!

Schedule

Our ceremony will start at 13:00 PM so we kindly ask all day guests arrive strictly no later than 12:30 PM to be seated for 12:45 PM. Other aspects of the schedule may be subject to slight changes as we approach our special day. We'll be welcoming evening guests from 19:00 PM.

Travel & Accomodation

Whistle Barns is located in Heanor, Derbyshire, equal distance from both Derby and Nottingham train stations. There are a number of shipping container pods (double and family pods for up to 4 people) available to book for the night of the wedding only (not the night before). If you'd like to reserve one, please contact Ellie or Callum for the booking code. Check-in starts from 13:00 PM. There are lots of Airbnbs and hotels within 10 - 30 minutes of the venue by taxi - ideal for those staying the night before. You can find hotel recommendations on the Whistle Barns website. For taxis, we would recommend booking with Taxi Man Ilkeston or Albatross Cars Derby, though there are other providers available.

Gifts

Making the effort to come celebrate with us on our special day is deeply appreciated, and gifts are not expected! However, if you would like to give a small token, contributions to our dream honeymoon to Japan would be most appreciated (there will be a box for cards on the day). If you'd prefer to go cashless, we have set up a new online cash registry via Paypal Pool: https://www.paypal.com/pool/9lqTWf9T1l?sr=wcco Any previous contributions made via Prezola have been accounted for and are deeply appreciated! We'll also be staying onsite the night of the wedding, so any small personal gifts can be left with bridesmaids to drop at our accommodation.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dress code is formal, and we would encourage guests to dress both comfortably and colourfully! We'll be bringing summer vibes in March (think festival oranges and pinks), whether its shine, snow or rain. No white dresses please, she's having a main character moment alright?!

I have a food allergy and/or dietary requirement, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please ensure that your RSVP is updated with any food allergies and/or dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten free) and get in touch with us well in advance.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

All day guests should arrive for 12:00 PM. We kindly ask you are here no later than 12:30 PM to ensure you are seated before our ceremony at 13:00 PM. Evening guests should arrive from 19:00 PM.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are unable to offer any plus ones for our special day. If you have any questions, please contact the bride or groom directly.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is ample parking at Whistle Barns for those travelling via car. Please note that if you are in a position where you need to leave your car overnight, all vehicles must be collected promptly by 09:30 AM the next day, to make space for any other weddings taking place at the venue. If you require parking due to mobility, please let us know ASAP so we can reserve you a space on the day.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

No, please see the 'Travel & Accomodation' page for options and recommendations. We recommend booking a taxi in advance for the end of the night and to consider leaving between 23:30 PM and 00:00 AM to stagger demand.
