How do I get to Mess Hall?

Answer

Mess Hall is on Frederick Douglass Blvd. (8th Ave. in Harlem) between 118th St. and 119th St. on the east side of the street. Look for the neon sign that says BAR. Public transit: Take the C train to 116th St. Driving: Google Maps is your best bet. There is a parking garage very close to the bar on 118th St. between Frederick Douglass (8th Ave.) and Adam Clayton Powell (7th Ave.). Turn onto 118th St. from Frederick Douglass and the entrance to the garage will be on on the right. There's also usually good street parking on Sundays.

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Answer

Yes! Mess Hall is a bar, but we will be the only group there during our party, so you don't have to worry about bothering other patrons (or vice versa). We will also have access to the small back patio that the bar shares with the next-door coffee shop if kids need somewhere to get their wiggles out.

We will be having a private ceremony in Central Park right before our reception. We can't wait to celebrate with you afterwards!

Yes! We will have a variety of snacks/light hors d'oeuvres available, as well as gourmet doughnuts (more fun than cake!).
