Scott’s birthday weekend was one to remember. Nikki took off work so they could have a long weekend together. Nikki had a hair appointment at 4:00 pm and Scott wanted to go to a nice dinner that night after for his birthday. Nikki went to her appointment and Scott continually texted her while she was gone to see when she would be home because he didn’t want to be late for the dinner reservation. Nikki finally arrived home around 7:15 pm and their dinner reservation was set for 7:30 pm (for those of you who know Nikki and Scott - Nikki is habitually late and Scott is always at least 5 minutes early for anything). Nikki came home to find all the lights down and candles lit in the house. In the kitchen there was a note written next to the first candle that had the title: Scott’s Birthday List. Scott’s note was sweet and mentioned a few things he could use this year for his birthday, but what he really wanted this year was something he had to reach out to Nikki’s brothers for to get their permission and acceptance. Nikki then walked to the end of their apartment and there was Scott, waiting in the office, dressed nice, with a smile on his face. Scott got down on one knee and asked Nikki to marry him right then and there in their apartment in St. Louis, knowing that he was going to spend the rest of his life with Nikki and would never be on time for anything ever again.
