Question

When should I book lodging?

Answer

ASAP! You can book rooms beginning a year in advance of your stay dates. Please check out our Travel & Lodging page for more details. As of April 13, 2025, there are ~20 rooms available at The Ridge/Lodge. Please call the hotel if you have any issues booking online.

Question

How and when do I RSVP?

Answer

You can RSVP on this website, where you’ll let us know which wedding weekend events you’ll be attending, your meal choice, and any dietary restrictions. Please RSVP no later than April 21, 2025—but if you already know your plans, we’d love to hear from you sooner!

Question

What is the dress code for the Ceremony and Reception?

Answer

Black-Tie Optional: Tuxedos and gowns are preferred but not required. You can also wear suits, ties, and formal long cocktail dresses. The ceremony and reception are taking place indoors.

Question

What is the dress code for the Welcome Drinks on Friday?

Answer

The event will be held outdoors at Geneva National, so think Garden Party meets Cocktail Casual. Sundresses, polos, dress shirts, and nice blouses are all great choices. Dressy shorts or tailored pants are welcome; just aim for a polished look. Since we’ll be on grass, we recommend wedges, block heels, sandals, or flats instead of stilettos. The weather in Lake Geneva in June is usually warm during the day but can cool off in the evening, so a light jacket or sweater is a good idea. Geneva National is a country club setting, so no denim, please!

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We love your children, but due to space restrictions, we cannot accommodate children other than our close relatives. Your invitation envelope will list all family members invited.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Only if your envelope is addressed to you and a guest or has your significant other's name listed.

Question

What is the difference between The Ridge Hotel and The Lodge?

Answer

These are the same hotel. Geneva National recently acquired The Ridge and is in the process of rebranding the property to Lodge Geneva National. This hotel is across the lake, while the Suites and Cottages are walkable from the reception venue.

Question

What’s planned between the ceremony and cocktail hour?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony begins at 2:00 PM and will be a full Catholic Mass, lasting about an hour. This means you’ll have around two hours of free time before the cocktail hour begins at 5:00 PM. Feel free to use this time to relax, explore the area, freshen up, or make your way to the reception venue (which is about a 15 minute drive). We hope you enjoy this leisurely interlude before the celebration continues!

Question

What are the transportation options for the wedding weekend?

Answer

If you’re flying in, the closest airports are Milwaukee (MKE) and Chicago O’Hare (ORD). From there, we recommend renting a car, as getting around the Lake Geneva area is easiest with your own transportation. While ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are available, reliability may vary, especially during the busy season. For the wedding day, you’ll need transportation to the church for the ceremony and then to the reception venue. If you’re staying at Geneva National Suites or Cottages, you can walk to the reception. Guests staying at The Ridge can take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary shuttle. If you plan to rent a vehicle, consider sharing with fellow guests to reduce costs. We encourage you to plan ahead for transportation, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Jordan!
